Why your opinion matters

They/I do it cuz we are annoyed by the moderation system and some of their decisions >.> Sheesh. Have you ever even heard our point of view?

I've just seen and read the topic made by Selena. It was interesting. I agree with all of it.

But that -

made a topic saying 'WE WILL RULE THE FORUM BE PREPARED THATS A WARNING' -

Is quite stupid imo. It doesn't add anything constructive, helpful to the game.

Why my opinion matters? Hell, I can't say my opinions without getting banned.

It really only depends on the way you express your opinion. If laced with anger, insults and accusations, it won't bode well. But if you're argumentative about it, if you supply some ideas and suggestions, take an active part in the discussion, I don't see why would you get banned.

Even if it's not formulated the same exact way, it exists

2.3. - flooding (sending messages that contain repetitive symbols, posting more than one same or similar posts

Applies in both chat and forum

And you haven't been banned for that, atleast on this account

No, that hasn't happened (again atleast on this account)

Plus, hacking (use of 3rd party soft to obtain advantage in battle) doesn't give you a day ban, but an account block.

well no it wasn't on this account i use this account to write in the forum but yes i WAS banned, blocked whatever u want to call it, from the game for a while on my main account and i NEVER cheated!!!

Pah! How poor, do not fool yourself! And according to your little theory, the "rest" are just trolls, but no.

I believe I am not the only one who strongly dislikes the direction the forum is going in - no decent discussion topics is OTD because there are rules prohibiting almost every type of topic. In the General section even, a topic for "What would be your nickname?" - doesn't sound jovial, now, does it? And the rest pretty much looking like http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4531/ilwy.png.

You'd wonder why we have trolls, eh? Some time ago the trolls may have lightened up the place in addition to the "fun" which was already being had, but now... since the forum is being killed, extremes are the only things they can resort to.

So what do you mean by having fun? Posting new topics to ask a single question? Having to answer those questions? People pretending to be moderators as there is nothing else to do for them? What is it you mean?

A new direction for the forum has already been chosen. If now there are situations when a moderator locks a topic because it can be done, the new guideline is to close only those topics that HAVE TO be closed. Of course it won't happen instantly, but this is the direction to go.

@Semyon, which direction is this? Probably of your choice - why not let the regular players have fun (which is THEIR definition of fun, not yours)? And "it has been chosen" - by whom? By a player, or by some random moderator/administrator who doesn't have a clue of what the players want? And your phrasing implies that this direction cannot be changed. Please clarify.

@Sel You keep saying what 'has to be done', but you're never specific. What's your definition of fun, what do the players want? Normal talks, good discussions - I completely agree. However for some people fun is breaking rules - this can't happen.

I myself am always trying to close only those topics that ask a question, which already got answered (actually all questions are for here) and there's nothing more to discuss about it (people just come and repeat the answer which isn't needed), topics that already exist (OP hasn't heard of Search) and finally, such that are created only to say hi, or something bad, insult, etc.

If you have examples of topics closed by me, which should've stayed opened - please send them to my PM.

Alright, specifics, if you really have no idea.

Now, my fr - you, the rules is where most of my points come from.

-----I don't see why Tanki can't be compared with other games (e.g. the Google doodle interactives, or Cookie Clicker which aren't even proper MMOs). Wouldn't it be nice to be able to speak about other games, for once? And those games in particular I've mentioned - people will play those along with Tanki, so it won't make a difference to how much money Tanki gets.

Next, you'd notice that people often make topics discussing things which have an "official" topic - why can't they have this? I don't mean have loads and loads, but one in Developers' News, and one in Off-Topic? That way, the one in off-topic won't have people who have just joined flooding it, and some real discussion can take place, a "debate", even.

Another point is about "farewell" and "I'm back" topics. For the latter, is it not right to welcome someone when they return for whatever reason? And farewell topics - before you jump at me, I know they're allowed - but for what, two days? Is that enough time for a proper goodbye? A chance to express memories... It's sad to see a good friend go, but I don't think you have those feelings. So try extending that limit from a mere two days.

And e.g. here: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=182542... Whether this be by you or not, it is of your department - he says to go to the ideas and suggestions topic - but is that really for discussing ideas with the rest of the community? I see he has not linked us to "feedback", deeming it out of the question, so anyway - discussing in the ideas and suggestions place will flood it, no? All ideas will be buried amidst discussion of one idea. So, why not let people share their idea with others? Let them point out the good and the bad... improve it... Why not?

Bans. Do not break the rules and you won’t get banned. Of course sometimes it is difficult to see what breaks some rule and what doesn’t but we are doing our best to find this edge and tell all the players where it is. Do not be afraid to complain or ask. We are here for you, not the other way around.

In that case, may I politely ask that when a player is banned, could you leave their post up for others to see, (excluding insult and profanity of course), in the interest of transparency and education.  We'll soon find the boundaries if we see why others are getting a ban.  [Edit: Sentence deleted as I didn't know if it broke rules.]

You need to issue more warnings and less bans. This place is so strict and confined, I almost get claustrophobic.

That said, I welcome your post Semyon. Anything you can do to loosen this place up and make it more enjoyable is a good thing.

Well, as feedback I think there should be a day with 50% discount on changing in game name, imo 100k is too expensive just for change the nick.

Others feedback: IP ban for the ones that use hacking tools.

Hi, my fr

Another point is about "farewell" and "I'm back" topics. For the latter, is it not right to welcome someone when they return for whatever reason? And farewell topics - before you jump at me, I know they're allowed - but for what, two days? Is that enough time for a proper goodbye?

If someone leaves and never checks the topic again, even if you leave it for an year, he still won't answer and share memories...

Anyway, the '2 days' thing isn't my call.

It's sad to see a good friend go, but I don't think you have those feelings.

Don't state what I have and what I don't have, please don't bring personal arguments here.

And e.g. here: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=182542... Whether this be by you or not, it is of your department - he says to go to the ideas and suggestions topic - but is that really for discussing ideas with the rest of the community? All ideas will be buried amidst discussion of one idea. So, why not let people share their idea with others?

Point of the topic is to collect and discuss ideas that are being checked by developers. Having a whole section for it with single topics for every single idea - may be better for players, but devs won't be able to check all. And I bet for most players showing idea to devs is a bit more important than showing it to players. So I guess that's why a single thread was made - first of all to be easier for devs. Anyway

So, why not let people share their idea with others? Let them point out the good and the bad... improve it... Why not?

Why are you telling this to me?

Sounds great in theory, but practically it's a hole. An example - I keep giving warnings to people that overquote (quote several pictures in Congratulatory post/Pic of the day). And the same people keep doing the same, again.

a) Where I said "you" in "I don't think you have those feelings", I was not referring to you, just moderators and administrators in general. So stop accusing me of bringing "personal arguments" into things - and I'd like to think we don't have any, which we DO NOT. Wherever I said "you" I meant moderators and admins.

b ) About the second topic in Off-Topic, I guess after a while when the main topic is locked, so could the one on off-topic, and someone could write a detailed ending showing the good and bad sides to the update, meaning the developers would only have to check one post.

c) About "Why are you telling this to me?" I quoted your post, but if I meant it to be completely private, I would have sent you a PM. This means anyone can see my post and respond. It just so happened that I was responding to you.

About anything else, we can cross that bridge when we get there.

Discussed with Semyon, now we have a topic for this http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=182736
