I ask you all to please get back on topic &  not to turn this thread into a political debate & that CLEARLY was not the intention but to highlight a countries own special qualities

if this cannot be done then I will ask a mod to close it which I think will be a shame as it has potential to be quite an interesting topic :)

anyway peace blessings to all ^_^

You guys r just placing a label on an entire country

I think that Germany, Norway Finland, have very well mannered people with great food &  scenery :)

what  is great about them, is it the people, the architecture, the food, the manners,  cleanliness, their sporting achievements,

Any way....I like Irish folks because they make good beer and good whiskey  :P

I respect russians for being intellegent also creating this game!

No, i like people who make me laugh, i have on my skype list many Bulgarians, and they are always fun to talk to,not only that but they are really joyful and respected people :)

I like you english guys because you seem funny to me.

I respect italians, for their pizza.

Plus; they are very funny... I know a few in real life; Some of the most coziest people I've met.

Stop placing a "label" on millions of people

An entire Country cannot be "funny" or "intelligent",

ONLY the individuals within that population can be,

But never the whole population

Actually nobody is doing nothing of the sort ;)

the topic is about praising nations for something special IE FOOD ;) sorry if that`s confusing for you & if you had the ability to understand you would see that

& if you could be bothered to look I made a topic about the funny stereotypes that others see in other nations & of course they are not true

it`s called humour which is something you do not obviously have :P

& nobody placed a label would it be wrong for me to say that ITALY have contributed immensely to world cuisine ;) ?  or that the Chinese/Japanese have lead the way in technology for many many years? no so stop reading something into a topic simply to cause drama where there is none.

And for your information all countries have special qualities & it`s vital to praise each other &

it`s blatantly obvious that nations have their faults but whilst that is recognised & is clear to people

there is nothing wrong with praising & thanking other nations for their contribution to the world in some way

but it`s important to see the positives as they outweigh the negatives

as otherwise we could be like you which is reading something into it which does not exist &  does not need to be ;).

And  finally stereotyping does not apply to your cries of foul play ;)

stereotyping is for instance saying that all English play cricket, wear bowler hats to work, have regular afternoon tea & eat cucumber sandwiches

or that all Russians drink vodka & play the balalaika every day all day ( which they do not do that much is obvious )

Hope that`s cleared that up for you ? ;)

should you need any further clarification please send a message on a carrier pigeon to me on the cricket pitch in my suit wearing a blower having afternoon tea eating my cucumber sandwiches

tally ho chocks away pip pip & all that     ^_^

It is impossible to praise a nation for something that not the nation has not done,

It is the individuals inside said nation that have contributed something special

So NO you cannot say that the Chinese have lead the way in technology

You can only say the the scientists and engineers living in china have lead the way in technology.

These 2 sentences imply 2 different meanings, and maybe if you bothered to read between the lines, you would understand

Dictionary Definition of stereotype

"A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing"

Lets take what you said;

"Italians have contributed immensely to the international cuisine"

-It is widely held (even I used to believe this)

-Oversimplified (all Italians are not chefs)

-Is an idea (is a misconception)

-Concerns  ALL Italians (not just chefs)

This statement meets and exceeds the criteria of of a stereotype (stereotypes are not necessarily negative)

So I ask you, why place this label on Italians?

Why place labels on anyone?

I'm not sure if we are putting labels on countries e.g. Italy. But we are prasing them in a good way, so nothing wrong really if you ask me.

Anyway I respect Sweden because of it's sensational wonderful weather during summer. And it's wonderful winterwonderlands during Christmas. I also respect England :D for the people that are look for cures to solve cancer and other deseases. And for my best friend in real life, without her I think I would die. :D And yes I do, I do come from England. And Sweden. :D :D :D :) :P

Your 1 of the most amusing people & also 1 of the most pedantic :D

I have ever sadly encounter ;)  yet you have not the ability to grasp/comprehend the point of this topic I am quite certain your attempt to argue & see the negative in anything

& you also contradict yourself &  obviously need to educate yourself in what a stereotype actually is ;)

a ST is singling out a nation such as Mexico or Australia saying that all Mexicans or Australians wear sombreros or hats with corks on them & thus therefor making an incorrect statement which is 100% wrong as none of the former mentioned do all of the time & that is a stereotype which I have covered in a topic ONCE but as you like to argue a lot you have missed  what I said but I`m not surprised ;) &  further more I nor anyone else have mentioned that only YOU?

And to bring you up to date/speed it`s a well know fact that Italian parents teach their children how to cook from a VERY early age be it girls or boys & their parents before them did as well

& the same applies to Asian countries they have contributed immensely to world cuisine but you only picked out because I said Italy as 1 example :D DEAR OH DEAR &  NOT ALL ITALIANS need to be called a chef to be exceptional at cooking.

And china/Japan have  lead the way in technology ;) I did no have to say that it in such a direct way & state it was  scientists/engineers it was quite clear that was the point I  was making & anyone with 1 brain cell could see that sorry your could not but not surprised at all you failed ;)

For instance Germany engineering is 1 world renowned  industry/car manufacturing or will you question that * I`m sure you will * ;)

&  if you could be bothered to open up your eyes & engage that organ you call a brain you would see that but sadly there are people like you that will argue about anything simply for the sake of arguing + how interesting that YOU are the only 1 that has decided to attempt to cause a problem here ;) says quite a lot about the sort of person you are.

Next time you decide to TRY & highjack a thread make sure it`s by a person who cannot answer themselves as I can carry this on for ages if you wish to insist to pursue your intentional drama throwing his toys out of the pram session  ;)

Ps Labels can be positive & of praise for a country or individual's & not because another nation or inhabitants have the wrong view or another ;)

+ it`s not those who have gained academic qualifications in collage, schools  or universities & have a piece of paper that have made a valuable  contribution to the world

many people IE inventors have as well so it`s not just those who have gained a position with a global blue chip company that have deserve to have their praises sung

it`s the small people who often are ignored that in face have made a greater one.

Another example is hugely talented artists/craftsmen in various fields of expression that have inputted to the world their creativity &  did not have to have certification to ascertain wherever or not they are actually skilled/talented as a large percentage of people in many many different countries have no recognition but have greater skill than those who have become a household name simply because they have been on tv or held various exhibitions.

And it would be wrong of me to say that an ITALIAN ( singular ) has made a major contribution to world cuisine but it world be correct to say that Italians as a ( collective ) have done so.
