The private messaging system is flawed

A few days ago, this other forum guy and I got into an argument in a thread. So, we took it to a PM, and continued it there. Midway through, he starting using insults, so I invited yele to the PM so she could take a look However, the other player started to abuse the "edit" and "delete" buttons. In private messages, these buttons do not work the same way in the forum. First of all, the forum does not have a "delete" button. Only moderators have access to this feature. Second, the "edit" button works differently in the forum. In the forum, if you edit a post, there will be a "edited by" line. In a PM, however, you can edit a message and there will be no "edited by" line. So basically, this other guy edited some of his messages to hide the insults and to avoid the ban. So anyway, yele read our PM as I said before, and guess what - she invited Semyon to the PM. I waited for a response from Semyon, but by this point, almost all the messages sent by the other player were either completely edited or deleted. Semyon told us that because the messages had been deleted, he could not ban him because he had no evidence... Is this really what the forum has come to? Avoiding a ban by editing your post, and even after posting screen shots, the violator still does not get banned?

Why didnt u take screenshot?

I did take a screenshot. In fact, I posted it in the PM. But the only thing is, that it is very easy to fake a screenshot by using Inspect Element. I'm not saying I did fake it, but I kind of thought that Semyon wouldn't have believed it.

Stop blaming your mistake on forum or on others. You should have taken the screenshot before and reported that to Mods. Even if the edited message shows that the message has been edited, it will still not be enough to prove that the person was swearing.
Again as a reminder. Always take screenshots of any offence.
