The point of school?

School prepares you for the future, it gives you the skills and knowledge you'll need to get a decent job.

It doesn't give you skills or knowledge, it gives you a degree.

There is a huge point of school

without school, education would be messed up, how would we know things, how will mankind advance in technology? how will you be able to work?

school prepares you for all these things

in the olden days it was everyone for themselves, if you could get educated you would be one a few who would only be able to seek a dense employment

It doesn't give you skills or knowledge, it gives you a degree.

And to get a degree you need skills and knowledge and to get a job you need to prove you have skills and knowledge with the degree :)

School is a privilage, millions children in the world wish to go to school.

Learn to be gratefull for what you have

and once they're on a school they'll soon hate it...

And yes you fc know what the real world is. HaH.

You are a child who knows nothing of the real world, ecpect what is fed to you

And what you learn is school today decides what career you will have. What career you have decides your paycheck. Your paycheck decides your standard of lving

yeah ofcourse you travelled the whole world , you know everything that's going on m you know what life is. ignorant nub.

*Sigh... You need basic education of each subject for later in your life. If you dont wanna go to school, you can leave

no you cant , in my country it's legally obliged to go to school till your 18th.

As I stated before, the extra crap that you get taught is for people who want to become teachers in the future to teach the same crap again and complete the sequence.

End of discussion.

I will say this once again

Most of what you learn in high school you wouldn't use in everyday life,- unless you go to a career that deals with that advanced subject

But the reason that they make you take it is because, it helps you  develop patterns of thinking outside the box.

This pattern thinking is very very very very (I cannot emphasize this enough) useful no matter what career you take

Yes, because learning about chromatography and moles and joules is certainly going to help me in my future.

It's all about receiving a rounded education, and giving everyone a taste of various subjects i.e. the opportunity to widen one's knowledge. Well fine, you can forget all the stuff you learnt in school and live a decent life; then you can leave it to the intellectuals to continue to advance fields such as science and technology which the ordinary person benefits from all the time, and let them receive higher rewards in return. Learning all that stuff in school shows how good you are at picking up knowledge and applying it; those who can show they're adept at a variety of things, and can put in the work, would end up being more successful later on. Grit your teeth and work harder for 5 years or so now to prove you can be successful, or work harder during your entire working life if you don't want to take the opportunities school presents to you, and so you'd have no proof of your abilities to show to employers upon entering work. It's your choice...

I'd rather have a wife who has a lot of common sense and can do everyday activities (drive a car, prepare food, etc.), rather than someone who is book smart and knows things that aren't even applicable in the real world.

"You don't need to have any of the intelligence of thought offered by education, just drive my car round and cook food for me, and it's k."

Dat pickup line.

Depends of a school, I guess. In some of them, you can meet some really great personalities and teachers whom you'll remember for a long time. You'll meet friends, and some of them will hang out with you long after you finish the school, maybe you'll get friends for life. You'll probably decide what are you gonna do in your life, or at least get an idea during school years. You'll learn that most people will grown up to be foolish and unsatisfied with their lives and choices they made. You'll find out that there's an injustice in the world, and that some people shouldn't work with the youth, like, ever.

But above all, it will give you a chance to enjoy your life. Because, when you finish school and start living for real - to look for a job, earning money and paying the bills, get married and start a family etc - then you'll want to get back to the time when you didn't have to think about any of it, and you weren't obliged to make any important decisions. You just have to study, and even that - barely.

So enjoy while you can...

Agreed.

You need some schooling to learn basic math and communications skills, but when you start learning about random poets you've never heard of, and inconsequential history facts, school has passed it's purpose and become a useless waste of time, dragging you down instead of preparing you for your future.

History is VERY important. It is taught to let you know not to repeat things that shouldnt be repeated.
