Rarer...but we still don't freak out.

Well, it did start in late January, but it hit national news that we would get pummeled with more snow. Sad right? It means that nothing else was happening, so they went to NE weather, strange.

Hey,

Thank you very much for your participation. The article will appear in the German Forum on the 10th of December.

The fifth question was bad questioned. I'm sorry for this. I actually meant: "what do you associate with winter" (what is the first thing you think of winter.)

I see, my English isn't good enough yet :D

I have no clue

But french horn and trombone can sound pretty similar :)

no... french horn and euphoniums can sound familiar though

trombones are much too aggressive sounding

i think french horns sound ugly

me too

Then you haven't been hearing the right people play french horn :)

This is true though... a senior in my band who's in the all-state honor band makes it sound pretty dang good

Everyone else is not..

Agreed with the first part.

However, a good trombonist can make it sound non aggressive or aggressive, so that part isn't really true. Also, french horn can sound pretty aggressive.

Anyways, quite a few famous movie themes feature french horn, and that is why they sound so good. Listen to Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones (the slower part). It's featured in all of those and sounds amazing when it is :)

Hey folk!  :)

I'm member of the German Newspaper (as you can see on my Profile) and we are planning to make a Advent calendar, which means that we are going to post an article each day in december.

And what I want you to do is to tell me about your winters, because we are planning to make an articel about "the winters of the world". It'll be very helpful if you answer those following questions:

-What do you do in winter?

-Is there snow in winter?

-Do you prefer winter to other seasons?

-What do you think is the difference between your's and other country's winter?

-What minds do you link to winter?

Please send me the answers in PM or post them here.

Thanks a lot for you all attention, we wish you a wonderful winter

Your German Newspaper Team  :)

Interesting idea, good luck with your article.

I know right?? Up here in Minnesota, we shrug and say "eh" at 1 feet of snow.

We are not Canadian, however.
