Ads That Are Not Wanted

Why is there suddenly unwanted/ Inappropriate Ads, for Ex. Dating ads?

Anyone else  getting any ads on the Tanki forum or is it just me?

If we're all getting it, Tanki shouldn't be putting ads like this

They'll lose their young viewers

I'm running a Mcafee Full Scan Let's see if that works?

If it does not pick up anything then post the last thing you installed on your computer here.

You may have followed the news that Internet explorer isn't a safe browser to use at the moment.

It has a leak in it, which hasn't been solved yet.

Microsoft admitted this, and adviced users only to use IE, if there were no other alternatives.

Browsers as Chrome, Firefox, Safari are still safe to use.

The leak will be patched probably) on 13th of may.

---

I've had something called Bettersurf installed on my computer, it turned random words on the internet into links telling me I've won an Ipad or something.

There was also a Toolbar installed on my browser, which was utterly useless ofcourse, but it said bettersurf, so I now knew the name.

I've found several things on google, explaining how to remove it.

It's pretty time consuming, way more things needed to be done than I initially thought.

The signs you gave are clear to me that you may have the same kind of malicious malware, spamware, or adware installed on your pc.

I've had this before, and most often the problem DOESN'T go away by just deleting the plugins installed.

It's a must to get these files out of your PC as quickly as possible.

Some types of malware leave a 'backdoor' open for other malicious software that can be installed on your computer without knowing.

To remove malware from your browser:

Go to the gear icon at the top far right > internet options > advanced tab > reset.

In the Reset Internet Explorer settings section, check the Delete personal settings box, then click on Reset.

When Internet Explorer finishes resetting, click Close in the confirmation dialogue box and then click OK.

But you're probably not done yet.

After that, do a malware scan; look for a malware cleaner as stated before; this is because there are many types of malware that can't be detected by your virus scanner.

Check your programs list for anything odd, aswell as your progam files folder

Deleting the extensions from your web browser can solve the problem temporary.

However, a lot of malware will install some files on your PC aswell.

They are extensions in your browser. Go to your browser settings. Settings>Extensions>delete add. Good luck. Use the FAQ's next time
