Both of them are good turrets. It's hard to compare them. Both of them have their pros and cons.

Freeze: shorter range than firebird. Good because it freezes your opponent so he can't move. And then you kill him.

Firebird: longer range than freeze. Good because of the damage and afterburn. The afterburn is also a con. While your enemy is dying from afterburn someone else can kill him.

My opinion: I'd rather use freeze because the damage is basicaly the same, freeze freezes your enemy so he can't move and then you just go around him and he won't be able to shoot you (because he is freezed) and then you kill him.

I like freeze better because: more paints have firebird protection (i think)

And besides freeze kills firebird. If you have a medium hull (or a heavy hull, maybe even a light one) the afterburn will not kill you. You freeze a firebird. Firebird burns you. Doesn't do enough damage. Freeze circles fire. Fire is weak. Freeze kills him. Fire doesn't do enough damage with the afterburn. Freeze lives, fire dies.

P.S:   Firebird loses ammo quicker than freeze + firebird reloads slower than freeze.

In gameplay, I think it would be a tie, as long as they have the same upgrades, and on a hull with the same stats. Freeze deals slightly more damage, allowing it to destroy Firebird first. However, Firebird still deals damage after it stops shooting, as a result, shortly after the battle, Freeze will be destroyed.

this is not for heavy hulls

If a heavy hull was chosen, Freeze will win because of a shorter reload time.

For the two posts above me, where did you guys get your information from? M3 Fire does almost 10 DPS more then M3 Freeze. And M2 & M3's afterburn is pretty damn long --- anything on fire for literally a minute WILL die

Pizzaslad, that may be true, but M1 and M0 Freeze is better than M0 and M1 Firebird, making it a tie. also, beginners might read this to see which turret is better. So they may not get to that point in a long time

I would use freeze because you can slow down opponents and run away and can literally bound them and kill them even tough the damage is 10 points lesser than firebird in m3. Firebird is kind of like a ghost or a suicide killer who haunts you even after death! It really depends on the player if you are tactical choose freeze else firebird! Kill each other well Tankers! :)

Being a long time fan of Freeze, I'd easily select that over Firebird. It's just great for CTFs. Sneak in with Wasp, slow up everyone near the flag with Freeze, and then get the heck outta Dodge before anyone knows what hit 'em.  B)

Yes. But while encircling you adversary, chances are their teammates can fire at you breaking you winning streak.

Ima freeze player, and I love playing CTP with it, but I gotta admit; firebird has extreme damage including the after burn. I am not quite sure how freeze and firebird fare at m3, however freeze currently works very well if u are good at jukes
