NZ to ashamed to admit the massive test defeat of 200 runs

Agreed. You follow cricket? The next Test is starting tomorrow, right? Southee's got bad back problems whilst Jimmy Neesham is out due to injury. NZ is getting a new (*cough*crappy*cough*) medium pacer (Mitchell McClenaghan) to replace Neesham (and in turn, get rekt himself!).

Hey folk! :)

I'm member of the German Newspaper (as you can see on my Profile) and we are planning to make a Advent calendar, which means that we are going to post an article each day in december.

And what I want you to do is to tell me about your winters, because we are planning to make an articel about "the winters of the world". It'll be very helpful if you answer those following questions:

-What do you do in winter?

-Is there snow in winter?

-Do you prefer winter to other seasons?

-What do you think is the difference between your's and other country's winter?

-What minds do you link to winter?

Please send me the answers in PM or post them here.

Thanks a lot for you all attention, we wish you a wonderful summer in Australia

Your German Newspaper Team :)

Thanks heaps! I write for a team of Writers so I could write something for you.

1. In Winter, I basically just study and play Tanki for the rest of the day but occasionally, the weather might be nice and go to about 20 degrees (Celsius) but at nights, it is usually quite bad, it can drop to about 3-8 degrees (Celsius) at night.

2. No, it never snows in Winter unless you go to a Mountain where it will pretty much always snow. The closest we get is hail but sometimes, rarely, every few years, (3-6) it snows but this is very rare and it's not that much. I, personally live in Melbourne so if you want snow, you can go to Mount Buller or Lake Mountain (don't ask me why it has such a weird name!).

3. No, definitely! Summer and Spring is much better. I play sports (tennis and cricket - Cricket is a sport which you might not know because it's only played in some countries like UK, India, Sri Lanka, etc.). Tennis is nice in Winter because when I'm running, I don't get too tired but I prefer Cricket to Tennis so that's why I like Summer better than Winter - for sports and because I can play outside a lot more. 1 bad thing though, is that in January time, it get very hot! 2 years ago, we had a heat stroke - 3 straight days at 40 degrees+ (at daytime and night was about 30 degrees Celsius).

4. Over here, it isn't as cold, which is nice. Here, it hardly ever snows but sometimes it gets cloudy and gloomy, which is a total mood killer.

5. I don't understand what you mean! Minds we link to Winter? Can you please elaborate?

Hey there!

First of all, let's get something straight. In Australia, our winter is in June, July and August. So don't expect me wearing jackets and beanies anytime soon.

1. What we do in winter - Pretty simple really. Watching movies, eating hot food, even playing sport. Sports like tennis and basketball are good sports because you can play it all year round.

2. Not really, unless you are in the Snowy Mountains, which is in southern NSW/Victoria. We do get some occasional snow at our local national park, but barely any.

3. Being honest, I prefer summer over winter, mainly because you can do almost any sport, and I am more used to the heat rather than the cold. It will be Summer here by the time you are reading this, so expect me to be surfing or playing cricket in a few days.

4. Definitely the fact that Winter here isn't as cold as winter somewhere else, like Germany or Canada. We only get down to about -2 degrees Celcius most years. But the weather makes up for it by giving us very hot summers!

Thankyou for choosing our country to be on the list!

Hey,

Thank you very much for your participation. The article will appear in the German Forum on the 10th of December.

The fifth question was bad questioned. I'm sorry for this. I actually meant: "what do you associate with winter" (what is the first thing you think of winter.)
