Greninja! Pokémon Competitive Battling is great!

I know Chesnaught is also competitive, but I like Greninja more.

Better offensive capabilities, better coverage, big speed, and Protean ability, along with its signature priority move Water Shuriken.

Sinnoh and kalos were cool

pokeymans.jpg

Empoleon, good sp attack but slow as heck. Infernape, high speed and attack's but bad defenses. Torterra, Amazing attack, defenses are ok and  very slow. My fav is Empoleon, but i'm biased because i had a Piplup as my starter .

Fennekin ftw. At its final evolution. It has beefy Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed yet has enough Defense to survive attacks. At least mine is.

Chesnaught's pretty much the physical version stats-wise except with way less Speed and different typing. Second best out of the three, imo.

I Played the sinnoh game all the time and Every time I restarted and tried with piplup I couldn't do it. I was always best with Torterra.

I think piplup is cute, but I think torterra is the best of all. I'm to the best if fan about chimpchar, here got extreme hot monkey butt! And piplup is just not my thing. I think of tertwig as a good one.

Torterra is okay. You can set up Stealth Rocks, Leech Seed, or you can go with Rock Polish and try to sweep. However, any Ice attack will most likely OHKO you, since it's 4x effective. And things like Ice Shard, which have priority, are pretty common.

Empoleon is pretty annoying. Not only can it set up Rocks as well, but its unique Steel/Water type is very beneficial. Not only that, but it has Scald, which can lead to a burn since the chance to inflict one is a whopping 30%. Also, it has Defog, and pretty good bulk. And the Roar as well.

Also Steel type coverage like Flash Cannon if you feel like it. At least I think it learns Flash Cannon. Also Ice Beam.

I like Infernape the best when it comes to competitive play unless I need a special wall or some sort. The thing is, I run Focus Sash, Max EV Speed, and Max EV Attack, Adamant nature. I give it Close Combat, Mach Punch, and Stealth Rocks. Also, for the 4th slot I run Overheat. It's actually quite amazing. Although there is no Special Attack EVs bestowed upon it, it still packs quite a punch. I can use it for a few different tactics. For one, the base special attack stat on Infernape is just as high as its Attack stat, which are not low at all. Furthermore, when people see Mach and Close Combat, they think I'm all Physical, so they may send in some sort of wall, like Skarmory, to try and force me out. However, then I let loose Overheat, and catch  them by surprise. It's an amazing mixed set.

I just plain, don't like Delphox that much as the other Pokes. It just doesn't entice me enough. :P

Chesnaught is alright, although Charizard Y OHKOs is. LOL.

And any flying attack pretty much screws it over. *cough* Talonflame.

Not to mention, although it's part fighting-type, Ice type moves are still super effective against it.

Whereas Greninja is good all-rounder. Good speed, good special attack AND attack, and, to some degree, capable defenses if you can predict with Protean.

@Paulina: I see you downvoted my post. Haha. Why though?

Is there a specific reason? I play OU mostly, and sometimes UU, that's it.

Maybe Delphox and Torterra shine in some other tier?

But yeah. Torterra's defense ain't too bad, but nonetheless an Ice type attack forces a switch either way.

Along with Chespin, still bulky, and even immune to bomb/ball moves with its Bulletproof ability, but still cannot handle things like

Ice Type moves (Mamoswine) and is completely annihilated by Charizard, which is why I never use it.

Heck, Assault Vest Machamp is better than it.

Greninja though, that beast 122 base speed. Run +speed nature, and kill Talonflame with Water Shuriken if you're physical.

OR run King's Rock with Water Shuriken. Did I mention it has Shadow Sneak? :o

Okay okay, I did down vote it... But read their facts. Delphox can see into the future... And the coolest thing happens, in my pokemon y, let's say I'mGonna get hit by stone edge, randomly it will say Delphox read your mind and avoided the move, all kind of other things happen, and I really think that it's underrated... Nobody ever really finds out... So I just thought you were judging a book by its cover... (T ^ T)

and lots of other pokemon have shadow sneak... :(

Pokemon Diamond. I had the chance to play White or Black, i can't remember and it was pretty cool. I did not have the chance to play White 2, Black 2 or the other new ones because i haven't bought any of them yet, so i haven't been able to explore the new Pokemon that they have.  :(

@Paulina: Ah, I see. You also consider Pokedex entries, background, symbolism, etc. etc.

I'm just plain talking about moves, types, stats,  etc. More competitive overall. So I don't mind the Thumbs Down anymore. Haha.

At first it was kind of bothering me. :P

As for "many pokemon have Shadowsneak." Yes, but which one of them can utilize it well? Obviously a physical attacker would not use Vacuum Wave, it would rather much use Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, etc.

Greninja, can use it in a much more different way than other Pokes because first, it is not commonly run, so you can catch your enemy by surprise. Furthermore, lets say your Greninja is still at its regular Dark Typing, and your enemy sends in a Conkeldure, preparing to OHKO you with a Mach Punch. YOU, can use Shadow Sneak, and you would go first because of your HUGE 122 Base speed. You would inflict damage upon the Conkeldure, AND the Mach Punch would have no effect on you if you have the Protean ability since you would change to Ghost Type. You can play WONDERFUL mind games. Same goes for Water Shuriken. If you run +Speed Nature, you can outspeed Bravebird/Talonflame with Galewings and try to Kill it, or at least have a chance at Flinching it if you run a King's Rock set. So far I have never seen anyone run +speed Nature Talonflame, you don't need it, since you already have Gale Wings for Priority and not many Pokes can overwhelm 126 Base speed.

And considering Greninja's 95 base Attack, it is quite powerful when you compare it with its base 102 special attack. It's only 7 points apart, and we all know how powerful a common Special Attacker Greninja is.

Who knows, you can even run a mixed set, but guess what? Life-Orbed Greninja is also an option. That set is amazing as well. Just be careful taking damage. :P

@Rampage: Yes, priority moves are great, aren't they? But then again  there is the occasional loophole like Gale Wing- Talonflame. :P

@Stinger911: Say hello to Fairy Typing my friend. :)

A Playrough from Azumarill? A Dazzling Gleam from Gengar/Alakazam? A Moonblast from Mega Gardevoir or Sylveon?

A Draining Kiss from Aromatisse? Klefki? :P

I'm not sure if Gastro Acid works on Wonder Guard though. Gastro Acid is a move that nullifies the enemy's ability.

Sableye is another Dark/Ghost typing.
