Percaution is being taken in many countries such as the United States and South Korea. Some have even thought of banning flying from Ebola infected countries to other countries.

Yes, I know Ebola is very deadly and all, but some seem to exagerate a bit. First of all, have people been cured when they had Ebola? Of course! Maybe in more than half of the cases the patient dies, but theres a big chance of curing to take place. So first you get some small symptoms such as the flu. Up to some serious ones like internal bleeding. I heard that in some cases, you can cure those small symptoms and that way your immune system can fight off the virus better. However this cannot always cure it, so hopefully an actual cure (if not solidly made yet) can be made soon.

You have to remember though, some ways you can contract Ebola by the mouth and especially blood. So think Africa, is it the most sanitary place? Not really. Also, people cram in vehicles and all those things. So as in that example, many people in a vehicle, they are squeezed together and if someone has cuts, ouch. So it is not that easy to contract Ebola but in these conditions it is very easy, hence the rapid spread.

Somethings I heard from CNN, Up Front, etc.

They are exaggerating. It's only around 50%-55%. They are scaring the heck outta people by saying the chance is 90%.

Only reason I can think of why govt. officials or news reporters would inform people that the chance of catching Ebola is "90%", is so that they could raise awareness of it. The way I see it, the more and more afraid people get of a virus, the more likely it will be that they devote more time, money, and resources towards finding the cure for the virus. (I'm using "they", loosely to represent a nations bio-medical program)

But children? They will get so scared. What if someone catches Ebola by mistake, especially a child? He may think he is going to die in a painful way, so he might just suicide thinking it's 90% chance, whereas he could be saved if the people wouldn't lie.

I've heard of rumors that Russian scientists mixed Smallpox virus and Ebola virus together, making it as contagious as Smallpox (airborne infection) and as deadly as Ebola (uncontrollable bleeding). Now I'm scared.
