It's that time again. Just three issues ago, we welcomed four new reporters to the team. This month, we have three new recruits to show off to the world! From their favorite Tanki combination to their ideal mentor, join me as we find out all about them!
Remaine
Definitely the most well-known of this month's recruits, Rem is an extremely talented writer who finally entered the team at the third time of applying. Having led one of the English community's most successful clans of recent times, Rem showcases incredible knowledge of both the English language and the game in his writing.

hogree: Evening, Rem. Great to be able to speak to you. First, could you give us a bit of background on yourself and who you are?

Remaine: Hello, pig. My name is Remaine, and at this moment in time, I am fifteen years of age. I was born and raised in England as an only child. I'm a huge fan of football, rugby and basketball. I don't play for a team in any of the sports particularly, but I do play them frequently when not here.

hogree: Great. Big fan of football too. What team do you support? :P

Remaine: Manchester United for the win!!!!!!!11111 I'm aware the team defends like statues for the time being, but they'll get past it. When they do, you'll see the sheer force that is Manchester United. Under no circumstances are you to mention that we finished seventh last season - ohwait... Anyways, I've been supporting them for a good 5 years now.

hogree: Glory hunter... *cough* 5-3 *cough* Support a proper team like Villa! Anyway . . .,  moving on, when did you join Tanki, and what made you consider being a Reporter?

Remaine: Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft; they got lucky. Anyhow, I joined Tanki around late 2012 on another account, before making this account around early 2013. I've always been a fan of writing - it provides a pathway of expression, and it's an effective way of making your thoughts visible. Bearing that in mind, every time applications were open, I gave it a go.

hogree: That's great. Well, what's kept you enjoying this game enough to keep playing it?

Remaine: The EN community itself motivates me to stay around. I question my presence here if not for the friends I've made. In addition to this, the lust for having every turret at the maximum level also keeps me here. In an ideal Tanki world, I'd like to have every turret M3, along with Wasp, Hornet, Viking and Titan.

hogree: No Hunter? Mate. You need to visit an eye surgeon. Hunter is where the party's at. Well, do you have a favorite combination at the moment, and are you particularly fond of any maps, gameplay or game modes?

Remaine: Fair point m8 - I'm relatively sure I'm due for an eye appointment, anyhow! My favorite combination always has and always will be Freeze-Viking, although I'm also a fan of Twins-Viking and Shaft-Viking. These combos are garnished by the use of Savanna, a quality paint. Its ability to camouflage in bushes is overrated; however, it protects from three annoying turrets simultaneously. You can't go wrong. In addition to this, I find the micro-upgrades are quite lucrative. I was fond of Deck-9 whilst it was here; it was simplistic yet got incredibly intense. To this day, I can't quite fathom why it was removed. I primarily play Capture the Flag; I pose as some sort of midfielder, unless I'm using Shaft.

hogree: Good point. I'm not a big fan of MU's either. Anyway, on a completely different note, if I told you to describe yourself in 3 words, what would you say?

Remaine: Diligent,blunt, and responsible.

hogree: That was indeed rather blunt. As a new reporter, then, if you could pick one reporter to have a mentor, who would you choose?

Remaine: I would pick Fen-Harel. The vast amounts of inquisitiveness in his articles are certainly impressive. One day, I'll look to achieve that sort of writing. In all seriousness, I don't think I can pick a sole reporter, unless a merge of GoldBlock and Piggee suddenly becomes existent.

hogree: Fair play. Well, finally, could you give us a taster as to what we'll be seeing coming from you article-wise in the coming issues? Anything you particularly specialize in?

Remaine: I'll try to be as diverse as I can be, however, stories and interviews regarding a plethora of things are the two I'll be specializing in.

hogree: Awesome! Well, thanks for the chat! Can't wait to see more of your work.

Remaine: No problem.
 Kevred
Although only regularly seen in the Forum Games section, Kevred demonstrates great ability and plot-lines in his writing and shows great potential as both a writer and a reporter! At the rank of Warrant Officer Four, and just the age of 12, he is both the joint-lowest-rank and the youngest of any reporter at the time of their hiring.

hogree: Hi Kev. Pleasure to talk to you today! Could you firstly tell us a bit about yourself and who you are?

Kevred: Well, I'm a 12-year-old living in my parents house (obviously) in Montreal. My grades are very good, and my parents don't seem to care. I like reading, surfing on the web, playing with my little sister, writing stories, and hanging out with friends. :) And playing Tanki of course! Oh, and my parents are Chinese, but I was born in Canada.

hogree: Cool! Well, when did you join Tanki, and what made you consider becoming a Reporter?

Kevred: I joined on January 3, 2013. I first realized the "Reporters" existed when the friend who told me about the game, told me that he entered for a contest. So from then on I always admired the reporters, but never thought that I'll become one. Only recently, I discovered I have a passion for writing stories, and I had lots of free time. So, I just thought out of nowhere that if I were a reporter, I'd have a reason to continue writing, and it'll fill up my free time. So I sent a sample of my writing, and here I am!

hogree: Brilliant! As a tanker who's been around for quite a while considering your average rank, what's your current favorite combination? And, do you have any favorite maps, gameplay or game modes?

Kevred: Lol. My fav' combo is something of a joke to me since it changes at least 10 times a month. So, I always seem to spend crystals and regret it later. But, the only hull I use is Wasp, and I alternate often between Firebird, Railgun, Isida, Freeze, Shaft and Thunder. Mostly Railgun though. I like TDM, because I don't have to worry about my kills getting stolen. My fav' map is definitely Serpuhov. No question there. I could capture a flag with my eyes covered (with no enemies, that is). I'm always on offense.

hogree: Ah, Serpy was one of my favorites back in the day too. Great map. Well, if you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

Kevred: Ok that's tricky..let me think...

hogree: 6 Words. :P

Kevred: Aghhh

hogree: 1 Word, it's getting worse...

Kevred: Fine. I know it now: I. Don't. Know. lol

hogree: Finally!!!!! Thanks. I guess that does tell us a bit about you. Well, as a new reporter, if you could pick any reporter as a mentor, who would you choose?

Kevred: Well, you, of course! (And no I'm not saying that just because you're the one interviewing me, and I wanna please you)

hogree: Whoop! That's the first time any of the reporters I have interviewed have actually said me.   :D Well, lastly, what can we expect to come from your pen in the coming issues? Do you specialize in writing anything in particular?

Kevred: Yup. I hate writing documentaries, but I love writing sci-fi stories. I'll also be writing some other stuff, but I probably won't be writing articles like “How to catch a gold box” :P

hogree: Fair play. I look forward to seeing your work! Welcome to the team!

Kevred: Thanks again for accepting me!

 Thekillerpenguin
Incredibly able at writing, TKP has impressed already by claiming many impressive prizes from Newspaper contests including his stunning entry for the "Parody" Contest. Not only is he able to write to a very high standard in a wide variety of genres, but he shows impressive knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the game for his unimpressive rank.

hogree: Hey TKP. Brilliant to be able to chat to you today. Could you firstly tell us a bit about yourself and who you are?

Thekillerpenguin: Hey. I'm a high school student in California, in the United States. I enjoy reading, music, botany, biology, and surfing the internet. I play both the clarinet and piano.

hogree: Nice one! Piano buddies! Well, when did you join Tanki, and what made you consider becoming a Reporter?

Thekillerpenguin: I joined Tanki in May of this year. I joined the forum about a day afterwards, and I've been active on it ever since. I enjoyed reading the articles in the Press section immensely, and I was wondering where the newspaper had gone, since it appeared to have a hiatus. When Issue 24 came out in the summertime, I was overjoyed. I started thinking of becoming a reporter some day, and it seems like that day has finally come.

hogree: Cool! Well, on the subject of Tanki, what's your current favorite combination? And, do you have any favorite maps, gameplay or game modes?

Thekillerpenguin: I have a lot of favorite combinations, but right now, it's got to be Dictator-Thunder. Very robust, exceptionally powerful, and not something you should take lightly under any circumstance. It's served me very well since WO4. As for my favorite map, I'd have to say Industrial Zone. Close, medium, and long range weapons can all do well on it. CTF is my absolute favorite gamemode, since you can rack up lots of crystals and XP very quickly.

hogree: Fair play. Now, if you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

Thekillerpenguin: Well, this is a tough one. I'd say that I'm kind, smart, and energetic. I try to treat everyone with courtesy, I do very well at school, and I'm almost never out of energy.

hogree: 3 Great Character Traits! Well, as a new reporter, if you could pick any of the current reporters to be a mentor to you, who would you choose?

Thekillerpenguin: Again, a tough one. Perhaps GoldRock or Kirby, since they both write excellent gameplay guides, and in GoldRock's case, humor. I think everyone on the newspaper staff is great at something in their own right though.

hogree: Good choices! Right, finally, what can we be expecting from your pen in the upcoming few issues? Do you specialise in any genres?

Thekillerpenguin: I can write about a wide range of topics, but right now, I'm interested in writing some articles about gameplay. I'll leave time for stories, of course, but I think there's a wealth of tips and information in Tanki that not everybody has had a chance to hear about yet. I'll do my best to entertain and help out readers.

hogree: Great! Thanks for taking the time to talk to me, and I'm really looking forward to see your work!

Thekillerpenguin: No problem.

Well, that's the interviews over, but you guys still can play a part in the future articles coming from the pens of these new reporters. Do get involved by suggesting articles for the upcoming issues, over on our "Newspaper Requests!" Topic linked here.

If you think you are a good writer, and would like to become a reporter too, regularly scan the "pinned" topics of the General Forum Section. We may want some new recruits in the future - and you could be the one getting interviewed!

As for you who entered but were not chosen, keep writing! Many of you wrote creditable entries but just didn't pass the high barrier we set for our new recruits. And don't forget - you can still enter all the newspaper contests and show off your writing skill there. Thanks for reading!

u guys just take your own people in not fair

"our own people"?

I wouldn't class a Warrant Officer Four with 300 posts all on Forum Games as more of "our own people" than you.
