[Issue 31] Describe This in 100 Words!

The results are in EN community! The amount of good entries were amazing, way more than I was expecting, so yeah, judging was way harder. but that's not what you care about, eh? What you care about is to se if those blue jewels will appear in your garage!

Some friendly advice, when three quarters of the entries are poetic style, any human being would tend to give more points to other styles of writing. BUT I'M NOT HUMAN yes I am. Remember, extra points to originality!

In 1st place, winner of 30 000 crystals is...

@DarthvaderjonGTR

The tarmac ground to a fine powder beneath my churning tracks as I sped recklessly across the bridge.

I only had one objective, one goal and one flag to save. Even time slowed as lightning prepared to strike thunder down with its mighty glow.

Despair pervaded my mind as the bolt of energy whizzed mere millimeters wide of its target. The end was near. Hope had forsaken me. I was but a lone, spent force, dashing straight into the heart of the heavily fortified enemy base armed with vicious Vikings.

Picasso would have been proud of his masterpiece as the hornet made one last triumphant leap, bringing the two flags just inches apart. I on the other hand, the chosen one, the prodigi, had failed miserably. I closed my eyes in despair, my wasp grinding to a halt, a moment frozen in time.

In 2nd place, winner of 20 000 crystals is...

@GoldRock

Reading Between the Lines.

He was the one who'd managed to evade the relentless assaults of the enemy, even as his allies were mercilessly engulfed by the flames of war.

He was the one who'd skirted the shadows of the undergrowth, concealed, slipping undetected past both the hollow shells of the fallen and the hollow shells of those who remained.

He was to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat; the prey turned predator, the avenger of the defeated, defying the coup de grâce on the verge of its delivery.

All but for the sharpshooter who foiled the ambush with a single, well-timed shot.

In 3rd place, winner of 10 000 crystals is...

@Grit27

I had nothin' to worry 'bout. Leisurely shootin' enemies from our Kungur base, I glanced at the scoreboard; we had a comfy lead and ten minutes left. My emerald-equipped viking was invincible, and life was good.

“Flag-carrier coming! Guard the base! Repeat, guard the base!”

Ahh, someone’s runnin’ scared with the enemy flag. Calm down, young’un, we got this. Four shots and there goes an enemy hunter. Three more, buh-bye incoming hornet.

“Enemy wasp rail attacking! Get him you incompetents!”

Hold it right there, whippersnapper. I ain’t  incompetent. In fact, I…Oh, that wasp. Blast! Railgun is warming up. Cannot...turn...fast enough...

So_and_so has captured enemy flag

“Yeah! Nice job guys! You’re the best!”

So.. we ain't incompetent?

Kids these days.

And of course, consolation prizes of 5000 crystals go to the following:

Knew GoldRock's entry was going to be up there. :D I like that word. . .Coup de grace. . .with the accent mark. And all those other words that paint such an aesthetic image in my head.

And congrats to Darth. What an emotional Wasp/Railgun. :P

I thought the goal of this contest is to describe the picture... not make a story with a scene thats the pic given... Can some1 CLEARLY explain whats the point of this contest.

@siddu: They said you can write whatever, and however you want. It just has to describe the picture. That's exactly what GoldRock, DarthVaderJonGTR, and Grit27 did. However, they gave it a dose of creativity! :D

Their stories with a scene colorfully describes what happened in the picture from their perspective.

Here, you know how we all play Tanki Online right? There is more than one way to play it. Just like how there can be more than one way to write, and describe this picture.

You can just describe it directly how you see it, oh yeah Wasp/Railgun missed, Hornet capped, yeah sure.

Just like how you can play Tanki Online as a Point and Shoot game without ever learning how to turn your turret.

Or you can inject some creativity in it, same way how you use skill in battle.

More than one way to kill an enemy, etc. etc.

Good luck if you're participating in the second contest of "Describe This in 100 Words," for Issue 31.
