What took the mods so long to recruit commentators ? I mean seriously for two freaking seasons we had to watch the SL matches with gibberish commentary of Russians :@. At least its finally here. Hope this works out well. Good luck to all those whom are applying !

There have been commentators in the english community for years now... The fact that it wasn't possible to cover as many battles as russian commentators did is another thing.

Of course. In this case, the prize would be split. 

 

 

Any age requirment ? I am only 11 and even if i win (thin chance) i dont think i would want the chance to join the commentators team

There's no age requirement to take part in the contest. There is a maturity requirement required for the job.

You can record your voice even with the basic sound capture software of your OS, and add it with a basic software like Windows Movie Maker.

In the rules section it is said that we cannot edit the visual content of the particular video, thus my question is-Can we add intro and ending as the proper Tanki/starladder videos are made? or we just have to make something out of the video itself??

No, commentators do not introduce themselves with the name shown on the screen. You should find a nickname or abbreviation.

Because commentating takes place all over the year, not just during holidays.

Yeah right maybe they were sleeping? You guys couldn't get it organized for the season finale of the SL? Seriously?? Not to mention it was not even notified ( apart from a single post in the news section of the EN starladder page) neither streamed in the EN page. How do you expect to gain the eye of millions of gamers worldwide if the finals are only streamed in Russian?

 

No offense intended. But it's really getting on my nerves the way the EN community is treated at starladder.

If you have a microphone, record your voice

I suggest when you are watching the video, record yourself commenting and just keep trying till you get it right.

To record sound using a mic, go to Start, type in recorder and enter. The recorder will pop up, make sure your mic is plugged in, and start.

If you have a laptop, you should already have a built in mic. So no need to have one.

We couldn't stream the SLTV final because it was held on an offline server. Russian commentators were there in novosibirsk and had access to the games, but the internet (and english commentators with it) had not. Although we tried our best, a solution to broadcast the content live wasn't found.
