Greetings, readers - as you're aware, we have a ton of tankers in our community that operate a YouTube channel - this series provides an opportunity to recognize up-and-coming YouTubers along with YouTubers that are already there. Each month, I will go around and interview 6 YouTubers, in order to get a grasp of how their channel's doing, where they're headed with it, and perhaps even their process of making videos. This month, , @splitterpoint, @duck100101, @T.O.R_Snap, @eragon33 and will be telling us about their YouTube channels. The links to their channels can be found below this article.

Hello, guys - thanks for taking part in this interview; let's begin with the very root of the situation - what was it that caused you to start your YouTube account?

T.O.R_Snap: Well, I started my youtube account at first just for watching, subscribing and all that stuff. Later on I started making any video, with pretty much no knowledge of editing so I was experimenting. (Some of my old stuff can be found on my channel). Later on I found more ways of editing a video and the started tanki, so at later ranks, with raw footage and experience, I make the videos that a lot of people enjoy.

splitterpoint:   Back in 2009 I used to play something called Stick Arena. All my cousins were playing it aswell so we decided to record videos. They consisted of various 1 vs 1 fights. I still have a couple of those videos in my channel, but I've deleted all the older videos.

Nowadays Stick Arena became less and less popular after 2011 so I left the game in 2012. I'm still quite suprised that I've played the game for 3 years. I managed to get into the highscores of the game and up to this day, the account can still be found there.

It was 2010 since I started Tanki Online, but the computer I had at the time was not able to record gameplay at a decent FPS. Actually, I wasn't able to play Tanki Online at all, so I decided to leave the game. I believe I was a Sergeant back then.

In June 2012 I got a new laptop, with way better specifications compared to my previous desktop PC from the stoneage, so I started to play Tanki Online again. My first video in the game was for a guides contest in 2012. I actually managed to win that too lol. Since then, my channel grew in popularity and I decided to keep the channel specifically for uploading Tanki Online videos.

AbsoluteAlpha: I started my YouTube on the 21th of April 2014 with several reasons. I looked up to the big YouTubers Like, PORTES_S, sanyatanki, etc. I really enjoyed video's of other people and that's why I started my YouTube channel. There were more reasons for me, but those are simple reasons like getting recognized and being famous.

duck100101: I really like to play Tanki and I make videos on my other youtube accounts, so I said why not make a youtube for Tanki and I did. Jamestanki was my first Tanki Youtube account, but it got hacked so that's why it's now called jamestanki-TWO

ashian7: I started YouTube account because i'm playing this game from 2012 (End days of month May like 24-28 maybe),to upload videos, help people in parkour and soon I will also upload videos XP game (tricks and gameplay to teach members and get more subscribers) and I wanna be Mia's new assistant (I wanna be spectator) but I have only 16 subs with 4 videos... But I said soon more videos.

eragon33: Well I made my YouTube account and Google account around august 2013,

I was playing this normal CTF battle on map “Combe”, back then I was major, in that battle I was playing as Isdia+hornet m2, and then one my team members left and was replaced by a mult, this mult didn't do anything, he rode a Viking around and didn't kill anyone, also had the nerve to drug and to get to the enemy flag before I did, then he would wait it out until the enemy would have gotten our flag and then give them back the enemy flag to be captured, Obviously I was mad since the fund was quite big for my rank, I even drugged a bit. I kept chatting with the mult and tried to scare him with bans and punishments, but he didn't really care, So I decided to record him sabotaging the game, I used hypercam2 and recorded around five mins of video, in the end my team lost and I was mad, but it couldn't be helped, So I had the video, but I didn't have a YouTube channel, So this is when I made a YouTube channel and uploaded my video, I later posted it in the Violators  section and that was how my YouTube channel was created. After that I forgot about it and it became history.

Good to know! I'm looking to start up an account as well for the purpose of recording rank-ups; moving on, do you have any favourite videos that you've uploaded?

T.O.R_Snap: I care about every video of mine and want to make them "the best", but I do have one that I think it is so far the best in my opinion, a gold box montage made all in the same battle:

I do think I can make an even better one, but it's just a matter of time, and if I get spectator mode.

splitterpoint: I never really had a favorite video until I bought the PC that I'm currently using. It has a graphics card that is able to record Tanki Online easily in 60FPS full settings. I don't have much videos that are recorded with this computer yet, but so far; I'm pretty proud of my slowmotion videos.

AbsoluteAlpha: Yes I have, several videos actually. One of my first video's "Tanki Online in the beginning", that video showed how I started my YouTube channel. The video has enormous lag + bad quality, but always when I watch this video again, good memories come above

My first video without lag was a contest entry "Tower of Tanks". Another good thing abut that video was that I made it with sony vegas pro 13, the first video I've ever made with it. I'm

kinda proud of it.

Masters of parkour entry. Good memories of parkouring with friends and making the video. Altough I didn't won, I'm really happy I invested time in this video.

duck100101: I have over 30 videos and I would have to say that I do have my favourites, one of them is greatest shaft shots, I like it because it has a lot of skill and it took lots of editing and time and it has a good soundtrack namely "Superstition", I like to have a good soundtrack on my videos...

ashian7: Yes all videos which I uploaded are my favorites, but my gold box montage video is the best until now (In my opinion),I'm collecting my gold box videos for Gold Box montage #2,but it's not so easy..

eragon33: Yes I have two of me doing some fan art, I love them both and they took me a lot of time to make

Nice work! Pardon the potential sentimentality of this next question - how has gaming affected your life?

T.O.R_Snap: Hmm, at first it just gave me something more to do, later on I started multi player games in which I met more people.

splitterpoint: Affected sounds so negative when you first hear it. :P

Well I have other hobbies as well, I do macro-photography and I play bass guitar.

So I have to make choices sometimes because there's not always enough time.

Especially with my staff position in the game, I just had no time for other stuff at some moments. Nowadays I'm not very busy with school so things are going fine. Now that I've built my own gaming PC you can say that I definitely spend more time behind the computer. It's really cool to play games like Far Cry 3 on full settings at great FPS, especially when you've a decent monitor as well.

I'm still doing upgrades though, ohh and I need a better chair.

AbsoluteAlpha: Tanki Online affected my life actually pretty much. When I'm on school I'm already thinking out ideas for new video's even when I sleep sometimes the Gold box takes place in my dreams. A few days before sales huge calculations takes place on school. Like how many crystals are left when I purchase bla bla bla...

duck100101: I am a huge gamer and I think it is a great way to kill time, I play games with my family and friends, it is really fun to play with your family. Also, gaming is also a great way to meet people even from different countries.

ashian7: I'm a big gamer,I'm playing tanki from 2012 (I left for 8-9 month, because I got bored) but when I opened my tanki,I saw many things had changed so I started again TO.Since then I didn't left again Tanki.

eragon33: Gaming has changed my life, when I first came to Tanki I didn't know anything about computers, the internet, about games, Tanki was one of the first games I started to play on my laptop, I learned a lot from the forum, it changed my personality, my attitude to others, my maturity, my life, The community gave me a gift of knowledge, even though the road wasn't easy, and I made lots of enemies and mistakes on the way I still learned a lot, That is why I feel a debt to the community, the game, the forum is part of me, and as it changes, so do I. That is why I stay so activity on it and I doubt I will ever leave it.

Pretty enthralling! Moving on, could you do us a solid via taking us through a typical day or week of playing and recording?

T.O.R_Snap: Well, for epic videos I have to play first. Everything I can I record, any gold that drops, any parkour I do, etc. Of course, I have some fails too, some unrecorded gold boxes for example. I have to be careful to be ready to press the record button every time I need, After that the editing matters. Normally I use Sony Vegas 13 for editing and Action! for recording (currently looking for a better one), but there is much more software to do this, plus, sometimes I need tutorials if I think of a cool idea for the video. Of course, I also need the equipment and time to do this, nothing comes pure gold within minutes and in the first try.

splitterpoint: My ideas usually come up when I'm playing the game. I'm trying to make original videos, instead of gameplay alone. I'm not a fan of goldbox montages either, so I try to make simple stuff > more on the funny side. When I've a subject for my video, I start working it out in Sony Vegas. I usually get more ideas as I'm editing it.

So I don't really have a video in my head, that's been thought out up until the last second. Problem is though, it can take way more time in the editing part than I initially thought. And half of my video's don't make it to my channel.

AbsoluteAlpha: Well... all days are different, sometimes I have a very good idea for my YouTube channel, and the next day I don't want to do that anymore. But there are several things I do all week long. I try too take one gold every single day, I try to meet other YouTubers and have fun with them. I'm helping people with Sony vegas pro 13 if they ask for help, and more of these things. I try too play at least 1 - 5 times XP per day, because playing XP will change your think way of playing in normal battles.

duck100101: Well, I use Bandicam to record while playing, sometimes I just think why not make another video and then I take the time to record and edit the videos. I use Windows Movie Maker to edit my videos; the best thing about Windows Movie Maker is that you can publish them in HD; publishing in HD helps the video a lot. Then in Youtube, I tag the video of what it contains and I put the name of the song at the bottom of the video. So that's what it's like for a week of gaming and youtubing.

ashian7: Well I use "Fraps 3.5.99" it's very good for videos and I use Adobe After Effects CS4 for edit the video it takes time for edit but it does good edits and both of them are free! (Fraps&Adobe CS4).

eragon33: I don't record often, I usually record once a month, and most of the times I fail, It takes a lot of time(three-five hours) and I lag mostly which means I can only record specific videos where my programs won’t take too much power. I use hypercam2; it’s the only recorder which I don't need to be a genius at. Recording videos of Tanki with high graphics is really hard, since I don't have a constant strong connection. I have Adobe after effects, but since I am still a newbie I can't really do much, so I use Windows live movie maker, Since I can’t add many any effects the footage I recorded must be fresh and good, since most of my videos is just bits of footage with music, can't add anything fancy since I am still a beginner.

Cool! To finish up, do you have any Tanki Online Youtubers that you look up to?

T.O.R_Snap: Yeah, I also like to watch other youtubers, that's where ideas and possible ideas come from. Of course, I look for Archy's videos (Ilia Archangel) as he does some very cool videos about parkour, rank-ups, tutorials and more. Another one that I like is shayanshiny's channel, also jiangreo's one (Goldbox500).

Overall, youtube is easy and hard. Hard to get the raw footage, edit it and upload it, but easy to get the satisfaction of all you made. You also have to take the bad reactions as they show what you did wrong and what would possibly entertain people, you have to know what are they looking for and get your videos meet their requirements.

splitterpoint: I have a few.

Even though I can't understand a word, I still think that 's commentary is essential in the videos he makes, it makes his gameplay videos more interesting. Plus his video quality is pretty good too.

@Sewegart Has gotten my interest too since a few months back. I like his gameplay videos, but mainly the rank-ups.

@Ilia.ArchangeI Great channel, informative and original. Especially the originality is what I like about his channel.

@Valletta This guy's channel is underrated. His newer videos come with great and quite (dry) humoristic commentary.

@M4D_GENiUS and @jiangreo both have in my opinion the best gold box compilations in the english community.

And then of course the Tanki Online EN channel, I never miss V-LOG's. biggrin.png

AbsoluteAlpha: Well I especially look up to the YouTubers with unique ideas for videos, like haraxx. When I was a beginner I looked up to sanyatanki, PORTES_S, a_bo0dii and more of the well known at the moment famous Tanki players. At the moment I really enjoy the video's of ilia.archangel and M4D_GENIUS because they are YouTubers with awesome ideas and they have a good thinking style.

duck100101: I do have a few youtubers that I look up to, I like MadGenius, he has some nice videos, also goldbox500, just to name a few. I also think watching other Tanki Videos that people make improves my channel.

ashian7: Good question! Shayanshiny is one my favorite YouTuber I subscribed to him and he will also subscribe me because we are very good friends(I was also in his MOP team) and I also like Ilia's (Archangel) he has good videos! I always watch PORTES_S's videos I subscribed to him but i'm 100% sure he won't subscribe me. I also subscribed O.U.F.A, M4D_GENiUS and also jiangreo.I don't have good subscribers, because I don't have much videos but soon I will upload a lot of videos!

eragon33: Any subscribers/followers are friends of mine, some of them through are fans of my fan art and just subscribe me just for the sake of it, which I really admire and appreciate. I myself never cared for how many subscribers I had, but since the Spectator mode applications have opened I have tried my best to reach 100 subscribers and might even get a chance to get the spectator mode for my fan art purposes. I am not around one-third of the way there so it’s too late to give up, if I get the time to create a video I will surely do and upload it.
