English Passionate tankers

 Share

Recommended Posts

Yo Guys! As the title suggests, this is the English Passionate club for Tankers who are writers or just

readers. Some of you might find it boring. But this topic might be a

thing for those who like the language like @Meliora and me. Anyways, here we can

have  knowledgeable conversations, I'll include articles, videos and other things

that might be beneficial for some of you passionate English speakers. Here you can post any doubts

regarding the language. And I'll make sure it's answered within 24 hours! :) But

be warned as much as we're passionate we hold the Tanki rules strictly, we do not entertain rule breakers here. So, please do not violate. If done, we will ask the moderators to delete them. Thank you for your time !  And good luck! Also for those who aren't interested in this activity

please do not comment. Thank you! :)

"In the English language it all comes down to this: Twenty-six letters, when combined correctly can create magic. Twenty-six letters form a foundation for a free, informed society" ~ John Grogan, non-fiction writer, his greatest work Marley & Me, which later was made a movie too.  :D

Good luck, guys! I know all of you can do this!

I'm either off my rocker, or I don't understand the topic, or this topic is a duplicate: [EN] English Players!

Do you not read? This topic concerns players who are passionate about the English language regardless of their nationality. This topic's aimed at helping people with an ambition to improve their language. The other topic is created for all English players (Precisely, native players) to talk in their mother tongue. Notice the difference.' At least think twice before you comment', that's what @MadDog21 would say to me.

So, this topic is not a duplicate, I obviously didn't understand the topic, so please understand where I'm coming from.

Thanks for clarifying, but please try to be nicer in the way you word things.

That's cool, but personally I'd change the font to something readable ;p

Okie, thought of something informal besides it's my favourite font but I'll act accordingly as you like. :)

I've always found it fascinating how English has evolved. Just look at Shakespeare, the Declaration of Independence and other documents of the late 18th century, novels of the 19th century, music lyrics of the 20th century, and today's from news paper print to rap lyrics to school text books. Language never stays stagnant. It evolves and changes with society.

I like English. It is very confusing. There are supposed 'rules' to grammar, pronunciation, spelling and all that, but there are always several exceptions to these rules. I bet it is one of the hardest second languages to learn. Luckily, it is my native language.

I like English. There are so many words, and adjectives. You can be extremely precise in what you say, and can convey a lot with only a few words. Other languages are different. They have less words, for one, and their meanings are sometimes bland. Whereas, English words can have multiple connotations. Writing good English isn't just a form of communicating. It is an art form. You can convey any possible mood you want. And it takes a lot of skill to be good at it, like a painter...

Actually, I find English pretty easy (it's not my native language). The only part which is complicated is the pronunciation. Similarly spelled words have way different pronunciations. I find French to be a lot harder than English. It just goes over my head.
