Reduce power of garage supplies

- _if_ the cooldown timer for drugs is only local in the client.. _then_ it can be cheated by 3rd party software (cheat engine, ...). This would be a pretty easy but powerfull cheat -.-

I think that timers are off-line, in local mode as you say.

If you launch an upgrade to your hull or turret that takes 1 hour, for example, and you hybernate your pc with the garage mask active, switch off the Internet. If you reactivate the PC after 1 hour, you can see the upgrade has been completed.

Maybe it also explains why some tanks seem to be impossible to destroy.

I discovered that the game passes about 10MB of data from your computer to Tanki's servers every 15 minutes of game play so there isn't much client side processing.

On health pack cool down.

I used one of my precious 7 remaining to test this!  (Daily Missions has not been so generous on Health packs which is probably a good thing.)

(I like the fact that pressing 1 while at full health does not use a health pack!)

Once damaged and used a health pack - the countdown timer prevented me from using DD and DA for 16 seconds and another health pack for 40 seconds.

We will have to catch examples of this not happening on video.

(I get best results with using Mirabilis Action (costs about GBP25.00) to AVI files and MS Movie Maker to edit it.)

It must be said that Wasps and Hornets suffer the most from the over use of garage drugs while Vikings benefit enormously - which is exactly what we see on the battlefield today.

A Wasp M2 has about 140 HP - an M2 Rico takes about 5 hits to kill (28HP per shot).

A Viking M3 has about 230 HP - an M2 Rico takes about 9 hits to kill.

Put both on DA:

Wasp now has 280HP - an M2 Rico takes about 10 hits to kill.

Viking now has 460 HP - an M2 Rico takes about 16 hits to kill.  The Rico has to re-load after 10 shots costing about 4 secs (while hiding).

Hence, Vikings on constant drugs are so hard to stop.

Vikings on DA can easily ignore Mines and directly 'trample' all over Wasps and Hornets = no fun and is the main reason I believe so many light tank users have quit Tanki to find a better sport.

This partly an unintended consequence for trying to make the bigger hulls more popular.  A better way to reward heavy tank users is to give them more crystal share - this is better than giving them the power to bully the smaller tanks.  Slowing down garage drug usage also solves this problem.

Theoretically I can kill a Viking M3 if I am using Firebird M2. Usually in such an encounter the Viking will have killed me and about 2-3 seconds later the Viking gets roasted and pops.

But when Viking M3 is using DA and I use DD it almost never kills it. I can empty an entire charge and it never seems to take it out (assuming the other player doesn't use a repair kit).

One would think that using DD to attack a Viking with DA would have the same effect as neither using a supply. But it never works out that way. A Viking M3 using DD is practically impossible to stop if it uses a repair kit also.

This is a good reason why nerfing Freeze has created poor outcomes in battles. It would be the only turret capable of overcoming the major advantage of DA on the Viking M3 while giving the rest of the team time to catch up to it.

I still haven't figured out how someone can use two repair kits so quickly.

Also consider the fact that you essentially have to be a gismo to buy the M3 of all other heavy hulls so it becomes easy to see why there are so many Vikings out there now (especially as a result of kits).

Your direct damage is doubled.

The burning damage due to your heatup effect is - most likely - not doubled. There is a temperature limit on heat up.

So - most likely - a very large portion of your usual "overall dealed damage" is not doubled.

Getting hooked when young:

My goodness the amount of supplies this person went through on red team to only get 140 crystals.

I spent the whole round trying to kill him and it was repair - DD - repair - DD - DA all the time.

How did you get this screen shot?

It's my son's account. He hasn't played for some time so I logged back in - I didn't know about the bonus for not playing for some time, and, I thought I would do the daily missions on his account to help upgrade a tank in case he decides he wants to play again. ;)

If he doesn't decide to play any more I'm going to use that account to focus on a single hull, paint, and turret combination rather than fill up the garage as I have done with mine (most of the things I have I never use, so, the crystals spent on those could have allowed me to do more upgrades on my main combo - Isida or Firebird + Hornet).

Actually it's a bit of fun being a really experienced player competing against those who don't have as much experiences - almost like taking a hot knife to butter. :)

While playing I chat with others to give them some help and advice on how to improve and rank. :D

I have a suspicion the person in my screenshot might be experienced as well - the movement and manner of fighting was better than other players - he or she was using Rail with DD the entire time and activating repair kits left and right to keep from dying. Still it's a bit funny how many supplies he or she went through for such little reward (sometimes I would troll and go hide behind red base then use the camera to spy on what he or she was doing. :P

Maybe he/she started doing this from the start. I see people activating repair kits and so on while on the losing team, and they are losing by a huge gap that is impossible to make up, and all the get from that is probably killing me and then dying if at all.

Daily missions make this problem worse. They should rebalance the game because this has disturbed its debatable balance.

Island CTF, 60 min battle, 3vs3 and no drugs, we were winning 50:3, my Firebird m2 was OP, 20 minutes before the end of the match 2 players left and there was Hornet m1 Railgun m1 noob so my teammates decided to stop capturing flags, 3vs1 was unfair, and then they joined, druggers, Viking m3 Isida m3 and Titan m3 Twins m3, my team couldn't even spawn, we couldn't defend the flag, 5 minutes before the end of the match my teammates went AFK and I was there alone, asking druggers politely to stop, but they just wrote ")))))" and continued, the battle fund was over 10k crystals, 51:72, yes, I captured 1 flag when they finally died, end of the battle, 51:89, I got 1k crystals, my teammates too, druggers got over 3k and that noob with m1 got 2k... I was crying in front of my computer screen, I was mad, I think that's called a 'raid', I rage quit Tanki and didn't play it for over two weeks... do developers think that is a fun and fair game? What would developers do if that happened to them? I am not a buyer, I'm not rich, I work hard for my crystals and that is what I get? Tanki, if you don't fix this in Unity, I will quit forever, I'm here since 2012, Tanki is an awesome game IMO, but drugs are OP and that's the reason why many players leave and never come back

Have you guys seen a poll Tanki made? We can maybe change this game from 'pay to win' to 'play good to win' with that poll

Raiders, druggers and mults are Tanki's most worse issues. Yet, Tanki seems unwilling to take measures against these locusts. I hope they take this into consideration in regard to Unity, if they don't Tanki will be a playground for gangs made of spoiled brats.

In fact, even at this point permanent rage quit seems like a reasonable decision to me. There are other games out there for people to have fun.

I haven't seen so far any real will to listen to players. That is obvious if one notice serious topics regarding the above mentioned issues. Rare and cryptic contribution from devs, less than minimum action in regard to these topics. While on secondary and superficial topics they appear and engage themselves in little talk. I think that Forum is just a means for Public Relations to them, not a dialog tool.

A long time ago when we could create longer battles than 60 minutes without a Pro Pass I was on a team in Rio with a 200-20 advantage over the other. Then a raid happened. Imagine playing a 3 hour round then in the last 20-30 minutes a raid party comes. Can you guess an outcome?

Now when I detect more than 2 druggers on the other team showing up I leave (unless there is some reason to remain to complete a mission).

I only play 15 min battles now :(

I don't like short battles because almost all players leave and they are unbalanced

The poll is useless. There isn't a single question related to power ups.

Even if it asked "Do you feel supplies are OP or abused?" and 99% of people responded with "Yes" I don't think they would care.

The three worst professions I have encountered in my life with regards to arrogance and narcissistic behavior are doctors, chefs, and software developers (in that order) :P . Many of them have "God Syndrome" and won't listen or consider other points of view.

There's actually a way to stop raids, if all players from the opposite team leave and there is less that 10 minutes till the end, just capture flags

That's sad, money will always give you more fun in 'free to play' games and it will give you unfair advantage, I thought that poll was actually good but they didn't mention drugs so yeah, it is useless :(
