Honestly, I wouldn't have even bought M1 Hornet nowadays. I barely use it. The only reason I bought it was because back then, you had to buy M1, M2, M3 in that order, and M2 Hornet was gonna be my first M2 hull. Same with Isida, although I do use that every now and again. And I also bought Railgun because... hey, sometimes you need a long-range weapon, right?

 

As for Viking, I need a medium/large hull for smaller maps like Polygon and Island. If I narrowed myself down to only one style of gameplay, I'd lose versatility. A ninja's best weapon, other than speed and stealth, is versatility.

 

But just sayin', even if I did have 150K crystals lying around, I wouldn't spend it on drugs. It's not worth it, 1) because I'm not used to playing with drugs, 2) because I feel it's unethical, and 3) because I'll eventually use them all up. Much better to develop non-drugging gameplay skills, and hope for a nerf in the future.

 

(And honestly, a lot of my money is going into Micro-Upgrades. I've nearly turned my Firebird and Wasp into M2's, and I'm planning to go the whole stretch)

The MUs are very expensive as i recently found out.. Firebird m1 MUs to m2 cost 190,000 , whereas normal m2 costs 96,000. Yes, you get them early and that is an advantage and i am at 38th update and need to sepnd 84,000 more crystals to get to m2 :(

 

On topic, The point she makes here is that buying drugs burns crystals (even if i buy two m2s, i will still need more to buy paints and m3s).. in the end it is a negative sum game, good for developers and bad for people who can't buy crystals for real money. 

 

There is a difference in opinion here, but that is ok. Everyone is entitled to do what they feel rocks their boat.

And the drugger of the day is troc_roc!

 

The dude's a Major General. He has six M3 turrets and three M3 hulls. He's been playing for well over 220 hours, and he's used 12500 drugs, giving him a drugging average of 57 DPH. And despite all that, he still feels that it's necessary to pop double damage AND a repair kit when attacked by an M1 Wasp/Fire combo.

 

Seriously, the dude sucks! His aim is horrible, he can't turn his turret for crap, he (apparently) doesn't know what Thunder splash damage is, and he drugs to kill players more than seven ranks below him! Not to mention his K/D ratio. Now I know I've said a lot of crap about it, but if he uses that many drugs per hour, has that many M3's, and has played that many hours, you'd expect him to have a higher ratio than 0.90.

 

If anyone meets him, give him my regards. As well as a "dislike" gift that says "If I gave you a great big straw, would you suck the fun out of someone else's day?"

I have come across some guys like that and I have started to be suspicious. I am not talking for Major Generals but for Gssimos that stumble around and can't synchronize with co-players or can't turn the turret... It crosses my mind that these players are not the ones to acquire all this xp. One scenario is that this is daddy's account and little kid just having a good time with that. Other scenarios include illegal account sales. Whatever the case, sometimes it seems not right, a gssimo of 2.000.000 xp that can't turn a turret or doesn't know thunder self damage...

 

So... is that a bad thing? Is it wrong to create alternate accounts just to have fun blowing up noobs? Because... I mean if you're not drugging, and you're using actual skill, I don't know if it is or not.

 

I'm confused now.

You blow up, you 're blown up. Everybody has fun, the most skilled or the buyer has more fun. But if the buyer (or the skilled) has ALL the fun (that is, he only kills and not get killed) then it's unbalanced and morally not a good game.

Playing PvsE (shoot 'em up) is a totally different thing. MMOgs must give everybody a chance at winning. That is valid even when the superiority is not based on supplies but on xp alone.

Alright, let me spell this out, because I'm clearly not getting the point across.

 

Using drugs is comparable to using a turret. If you're skilled with Railgun, but poor with Smoky, you're not going to want to use Smoky. In the same way, if you're skilled with using drugs, but you're not skilled playing without drugs, you're going to drug constantly.

 

Let's say (this is an example, just follow me) that Vulcan was overpowered. Its damage was doubled, its spin-up time was removed, and it gave your tank an extra health boost every time you fired. Odds are, people would be upset at Vulcan users. You can't just say "well then everyone should use Vulcan" because it costs money, and some people don't like the play style that comes with using Vulcan. Others won't buy Vulcan because they don't want to use such an overpowered weapon -- they'd rather wait until it gets nerfed.

 

You still with me? Good, 'cuz it's time to address Drugs.

 

Now, let's say (this is not an example) that Drugs are overpowered. Drugs give you extra speed, twice the damage, twice the armor, and an insta-heal/invincibility for 2 seconds. Odds are, people would be upset at Drug users. You can't just say "well then everyone should use Drugs" because it costs money, and some people don't like the play style that comes with using Drugs. Others won't buy Drugs because they don't want to use such an overpowered game mechanic -- they'd rather wait until it gets nerfed.

 

Now do you see where I'm coming from? I hope so, because this is about as clear as I can spell it out.

It's a good fight, but as you can plainly see, it's one that is simply impossible to gain traction in it appears.  I was a bit more vocal here before, but I finally just said what I had to say and stopped.

 

This goes back to Brubok (sp?) and what he said few days ago, and I had said exactly the same last year.  This is an issue inherent to mentality, not this game.  We live in a world where even a stupid game has to be "gamed", "life hacked" as it were, winning is all that matters, even if you're not really "winning", simply gaming the odds and knowing numbers and methods to defeat the base mechanics of the game.

 

Like I said, if I ever get my PayWall issue resolved, I'll "Premie" up, do ProBattles, and someone pointed me to a Russian server here not long ago, I'll go there and play there, I'll set up a website people can use to find each other and state games they are setting up, whatever, and simply turn my back on the rest of the community and their paltry, pathetic, ultimately poor game play and play against real players, not idiotic druggers that simply take the game and turn it into money battle.

 

I'm not telling you stop.  I'm not telling you give up.  I am telling you though, as you can plainly see, the 'tards abound in this world, we are surrounded, and there is precious little we can do about it, except circle the wagons, horses, and deal with each other among ourselves.  This will crush your soul, faith in humanity, and leave you wondering why you put in all this effort for precious little return except a nod and a wink from folks like me and others since we can't do much more than that here.

 

I will say this, you are gifted in verse, and bar none a welcome and refreshing bit of commentary in a world of "That's so noob" and "I love 'INSERT XYZ THING' they did," referring to the inane, blind, and fanatical MAC like following some many here present, like "sheeple" to the slaughter.  I'm even feeling the itch again to rag on some things myself, but alas, time does not permit (plus I like talking to my friends, the ones I still have, Tanki is bad for social life).

 

In all seriousness though, don't get too invested, and just take it for what it is. 

 

Oh, and while the allusion was subtle and very alluring, sexy, and marginally risque, you should probably take time to NOT PLAY Tanki and go out and buy a new shirt, because like I said, the imagery has its charm, but ultimately its generally a frowned upon look.

You know.. if I get blown up all the time by a player more skilled then me.. then I take my time to learn from him. By analysing what I do, how he reacts, why I die.. I simply become better. Often I write something like "nice kill" or "awesome shot!" if it is truely applicable.

But if the story goes like "I make him miss, gave him a shot - and he drugged DD to oneshot me -.-" then there is no positive aspect in getting killed. There is nothing that I can learn.

Maybe we should start a collection of usefull sayings we can say back in situations, when some guys use drugs mindlessly.

 

Some of my favorites are:

"Please don't use garage drugs, just dropped boxes. Lets play like Pro's ;-)"

Ugh, I know this feeling. Back in my old high school, your popularity (as a guy) was determined by how many girls you've raped and how many guns you owned. As a girl, it was determined by how rich you (or your parents) were, how pretty you looked, and how many guys you've dated. I eventually left the high school, so I'm doing much better now, but I know how this feels. The world is a turd field, isn't it?

Sadly the world has come to this, where "winners" are the people who have everything, can get their way, etc. But "circling the wagons" and camping out isn't gonna work. This isn't like Fallout -- we can't just go into a Vault and wait until the world somehow gets better. And to quote something from Fallout 4, the world is a cesspool, but to better it, we must rise above it. The world isn't gonna get any better if we just leave it to itself, it's just gonna get more self-conceited and egotistic, just like a drugger who doesn't know that using drugs is wrong.

 

Back to Tanki, I have my own definition of a winner. The winner of the round is the person who had the most fun in the game. I don't care if I only got 4th place and our team lost, if I got to run around Rambo style and toast Major Generals while they stare at their screens in shock, then I'm the winner. And everyone who thinks they won because they cheated, have the highest rank, got more crystals... they can go rape themselves with a crowbar, because I don't care. I had fun, and that's all I ask from a game.

Learn? LEARN? LEARN YOU SAY? Just what exactly can one "learn" from a crystal-buying drugger? Are you thinking one would learn that having the best equipment, plenty of supplies at hand, and being unskilled,  means you can totally dominate the battlefield and slaughter higher ranks? There is no honor "learning" that. Hell, you don't learn, no offense, squat.

He's your typical drugger. Rico/Hornet/Roger. At a rate of 52 drugs per hour, you can bet that if using drugs in Tanki were equal to using drugs in real life, he'd have overdosed himself to death long ago. I'm not saying he's not skilled -- he's probably very skilled -- but when he walks into a group of three tanks, he refuses to accept the fact that he screwed up and pops a health kit. The guy's been doing that for 62 hours, and I doubt he's ever gonna stop until his card balance drops.

 

It doesn't help that he's already got M2's and he's using them with drugs to kill M1's. It's no wonder his D/L is 1.26... which is STILL less than mine, and I'm a 'nilla tanker.

What other data will you include?

In order to look for usefulls times/dates -> rank, nick, timezone, usual playing time in UTC format, and a set of 5 favorite maps would maybe be usefull.

Do you also plan to allow to post links (if I find a suitable time, I go online and create a battle; then I post the link at your page?).

He can't turn his turret, and he called me out for "being a noob".

He also never came up the ramp without DD active.

I actually ran into him in a later battle. I called him out on his drugging behavior, and he swore at me. And of course, if you have any knowledge at all, you know you don't swear at a Texas lady.

 

Needless to say, he did not get a very high score that round. XD

It's still way more fun, then it's not just who uses their tank wisely, but drugs as well. Adds another layer to the game

 

U can go cry becuz someone used their repair kit and killed u, does it honoustly matter.
