HUMANITY

The world we live in
Will be put to waste.
But in the end
Is it really for nothing?
Every person makes an impact
Whether big or small
It changes our lives
And even though our lives must end
We must still impact others.
We must come together as one.

A WORLD OF OURS

We live in a world
Of large land and mystery
Because in this world
There will be discovery.

We live in a world
Of happy and sad;
But at the end of the day
We can all still be glad

We live in a world
Of loss and of gain
The old and the young
Will all experience this pain.

We live in a world
Of struggle and of help
For maybe sometimes
We just want to yelp

We live in a world
Of sea and skies
And this world is ours
So preserve all the lies.

ONE

The world is for us
The good and the bad
We are supposed to change
From happy and sad

The universe is endless
But we are not
So while we have time
Spend time in your lot.

The time will come
Where we experience a death
Whether family or friends
We'll be short of our breath.

Tears will fall
Of good and of bad
The sun will shine
And the rain will make us mad.

This world is for us
We form a shape of the sun
In a way we hold hands
We come together as one.

BELIEFS

We may all believe
In different things
But at the end of the day
We hear the same rings.

People may believe
In Gods and Kings
They cannot call
the others "things."

People may believe
The world is a waste
But they are the ones
Who only make paste.

People may believe
In Heaven and Hell
And when our time comes
We may hear a bell.

We may all believe
Of different reliefs
But what really matters
Is not our beliefs.

A DAY IN LIFE

I sit here at a vacant beach
Sitting in the peaceful shore.
I see a ship in the distance
And nothing more.

I sit here on vacant sand
Let it run through my hands
I look around
These quiet and peaceful lands.

I sit here near the vacant ocean
I watch the sea come to life
The dancing waves a spectacle
Not one with a fife.

I sit here looking out
And I look with my eyes
Upon the sand and the ocean
The ocean, which never lies.

THUNDER

I look into the cloudy sky
A rumble of thunder
A streak of lightning

I see the lightning light up the sky
It's electric shock wave
Resembling a war.

I jump into the van
Fully loaded gun
Ready for destruction

Today is either my last day
Or it is my first
to be a hero.

Alas, the van starts
And we go thundering
Into the night.

ONE LIFE, ONE LIGHT

I lay upon a hammock
Looking up at the blue sky
I think deeply,
Twas my life a lie?

I am 96 years old.
Weakening by the day
But I muster the strength
To think about it this way.

I helped 4 people on 9/11
Get out of the burning heat.
I helped the Jews
To escape getting brutally beat.

I helped take down
The Nazis and the terrorists
I helped writers make
Stories that are memoirs.

I lay upon this hammock
At 96 years old.
A smile spreads across my face
I was very bold.

I stare at the blue skies
I think about the fight
As my final words I summarize,
"One life, one light."

THE DASH

Your streak for glory
A desire so strong that
You hold on until
You cross the finish line and
Claim your victory

 

WINTER SKIES

Winter skies feel dark

Cold and endless snow falls from

Branches and the sky.

When they finally do end,

The warmth wraps us dry.
