It seems like an innocent chat conversation at first glance, but have no doubt that it is indeed a facade to lure you away from the answer. If you had looked closely at the way the letters were organized (the typo should have been a clear indicator that something was off), you would have seen a clever gem buried within the idle chitchat.

A pair of image links were transferred into the chat, but they didn't have the actual hyperlink. You had to copy the whole thing down and paste it into the URL box. I'm such a jerk. You'll come to discover that both of these images are indeed the results of battles that Porygon2 played in. ALEKSANDROKVSKSECONDPLACE was referring to the runner-up of that lovely match, a player by the name of TheZigzagoonThatCan.

 

After taking the initiative and searching the name in the forums, you'll discover that the player has only three posts. Two of these contain an image, one of which holds the next key to your journey. A message assuring players that they're on the right track accompanies its statement that all you need to progress is in the same post. Click the wink emoticon to reach the next section.

 

Upon doing so, you're taken to a new image, this time stating that it is looking for its lost brother quote. The quote within the box can be found in Issue 38's Secrets of Tanki Unlocked article. Note the advice that this photo offers you about shifting two. After clicking the hidden hyperlink within the Secrets article, you will indeed locate its brother quote, this time demonstrating a series of letters and declaring the advice his brother gave you might come in handy here. Shift all the letters forward in the alphabetical sequence, and you'll reveal the passcode: Third Lieutenant.

Yeah I came up against the same issue...

 

But for me, the hardest thing was finding the ;) link. The headbanging was getting ridiculous, but then I had the bright idea of going back to the 'debrief' of the previous game. 

 

That helped  :D

Your idea was good. Well done, Shed.

But please look at the topic for one last time before publishing. It had a "renlesk" thing next to one's nickname and the two links would lead to the same image (I thought there was a small difference that we'd have to find). After several hours these turned out to be mistakes, and that's the reason I stopped working on it.
