This would not be confusing. You come to the Homepage. Either your a " Unity Player " or " Flash Player ". Same layout just adding a Unity icon to go play. Your could even name the icons Unity | Flash. That way you would be maintaining the same layout. And it could be cost effective. Why invent a new wheel when you have one already working. All you would have to do is just add a Unity icon to go play!   :)

Many people I know do not use flash anymore due to better options/security risks I feel this is not needed..

Made a mistake and up voted your post.  

 

Most people in the world do not have gaming computers or newer model computers, and unity would make it difficult to play too much lag. And security of a flash player is not a imperative risk. Mostly everybody knows not to give out their passwords, or log on to bogus sites while signed into the game.

Most people in the world that play this game use flash and will continue due to "not having the latest technology". I will be able to play either way due to having the latest technology! I'm sure what's going to drive unity in the beginning will be the players from TOF that can hop over TOU!  :)  I would keep it in the same map. That way it would be easier to matriculate over to unity or people that join TOF due to lessor technology later  visually be aware that it's there and join later.  Just my opinion.  :D

So then you're in support of two homepages, two forums, and two help sites? Double the ground to cover? The reason TO is keeping the Flash version is for the nostalgia factor. By separating the two right from the start of TOUnity would be throwing TOFlash in the trash for only those who want to search for it; otherwise new players will ask you "whats this old tanki you speak of?" which longtime players and staff would find annoying.

And by limiting the audience of Flash through complete separation, the Flash would die out faster than it would otherwise, people would feel like they have to play Unity, so in the end it contradicts with the purpose of keeping it in the first place.

 

So If yeah, you do probably want the doubled ground to dissipate fast if Flash is so obsolete. But you are playing the game in support of its market and for what it is currently. Would be heartless to throw it in the trash simply because nobody else uses Flash anymore.  It tags along with the issue dogm just brought up:

Would have also helped if you were clearer about what you felt wasn't needed so I didn't have to assume that you were either anti-Flash or anti-Two play button. .

The front page of this topic is clear. Both need to be married together. Create a new front attractive page with both icons unity and flash play. To be able to have both option on the front page together will keep the player base options open. As the flash base player grows with better technology and economics so will the matriculation over to TOU. I'm sure Unity will be awesome but not everyone will be able to achieve it. Same forum new home page with two button unity | flash.

 

P.S. it would be awesome for flash players to see unity stuff being posted in the same forum. Makes for good business if you will.

General part of Forum would be overfull. If you use sections Ideas and Suggestions and Violation Reports and Problems and Solutions for TOF and for TOU there is no enough space and there are not same problems in Problems and Solutions and Ideas and Suggestions

To say again, only we are calling that new game Tanki Online Unity, because no one knows official name for it. What if that new game is called completely different then I doubt it can be located at Tanki Online Forum. Why would the case with the company AlternativaPlatform be an exception in IT world? EA Sports is having separated FIFA page from Need for Speed page which are separated from other EA products

But they're different sports. The Sport of TO Flash and TO Unity is so similar that going to all the trouble to separate the forum, the wiki, the helpsite, wouldn't be as beneficial as you think. They are almost the same product. One just looks better and runs on a more current platform. They're transferring over physics, so really the only new marketing factor is the physical look. Graphically better and more pleasing to the eye but the props look the same and the tanks resemble the same, only + the new physical effects to them.

 

Your comparison, in my mind, doesn't work with this issue in the first place. FIFA 16 is coming out because of the event. Need for Speed has been around for a long time and new versions are released frequently. So which one is which? NFS is Tanki Flash and FIFA is  Tanki Unity? Those two games are separate because they're different. Flash product will be almost the same as the Unity product.

This new Unity game will have its own name and it is completely separate product, it is illogical to be on the same page with the flash version.

 

Anyway in this last V-log, they said that Unity beta is out at the end of 2015, then months of testing by special persons, devs, TO team...do not expect Unity for all players before summer 2016

No offense, more players will still play on flash since Unity needs lots of graphics and stuff
