Some final thoughts and goodbye

That was one big speech... Kirby - I must say I've never known you personally or anything, but I've read some of your articles, and it's gonna be one big loss for the Newspaper... On the other hand, just like I thought, players are (rightfully) starting to leave the game.

I know your reasons are justified, but it still makes some of us sad that you leave :( May you have luck in real life, and may our ways cross again in better times.

Cheers all! Appreciate all the kind wishes!

And I am leaving indefinitely. I tjought I would probably come back but I haven't touched Tanki and have neglected my positions, sadly, for the last 2-3 months. I have no intention on returning right now.

Well, someone had to take the call. I appreciate your doing this. In fact, I myself don't play this game for fun anymore. I just play when I have nothing else to do. In my honest opinion, the deterioration of the game started when crystals boxes were removed. It was a bold and frankly, unnecessary move. They removed it to revert the side effect caused by their previous update.

The highly overpriced Micro Upgrades are also, IMO, not properly structured. (If MU'ing M0/1/2 is worthless, why do they even exist at all? I only MU my equipment to counter MU's of others. I do because I don't have a choice. That inspires the feeling of being forced to do something and takes all the fun out of that.)

Daily Missions feels like a joke now. They showed us the greener grass on the other side and then they stopped fertilising the grass. The rewards which I get from Daily Missions are not enough for a player with half as many exp points than me. 5× DA, 5× Nitro? They won't even last 15 minutes in a not-so-intense battle.

I could really go on, but I think I've made my point. For many players who have been playing since 2-3 years, this game just isn't worth it. But, they stick around because it's hard to let go of something you've enjoyed.

Yeah maybe. I hope they remove my avatar soon so I can be a bit more liberal with my words. We've barely scratched the surface, I think yes

I'll miss you, sir.

Yes, sir, seriously. You were like a mentor to me all those days I was striving to reach the newspaper team. You taught me that the way to join up is to persevere, and your CTS contest is what made me what I am today.

The Issue before you joined, you took a 'break' due to a 'family bereavement', as Rem put it. Little was I to know that one of the most legendary members of the Press left us that day. I always hoped you would come back, but when GoldRock told me you left...... that was the final straw.

We'll all miss you, champ. Have a great time at the university and enjoy real life. While I cannot agree more with the decisions for which you left Tanki, I can only make a humble request not to forget the English Community and silently hope that you will be back one day.

Till then........... goodbye, good luck on the ship of life.

Kind (maybe overly flattering) words, thank you :p At that point there was indeed a family bereavement, though leaving is another matter.

I will enjoy uni! 6 long years of doing something I love!

Course I won't forget - honestly forum was just as much fun as the game has been. It's been awesome

On reflecting further, why don't you just do what I (and many more) do? Just stick around the forums and community without playing.

Eh I don't have the time. I have a lot going on for me elsewhere, so I won't stay on top of a game that I've quit!

Though I'll check one occasionally :)

Nooooooo no no no no I can't believe it.

You were such a legend in this community, it's sad to see nothing for you to drive you on anymore.  Keep in touch, we all love you very much.

Dear Kirby

Maybe you remember me, maybe you don't. Anyway we have had different (probably forced) position on some things.

First of all UNI is much more important than anything else, so you are clever and responsible to dedicate your time on that and set your priorities on the right things. So, I am happy for you on that!

Unfortunately (just about Tanki) I read some of the words of mine and the sentiment more and more players start having ... and that is not a nice thing for a potentially great game.

Also, from what I read of you, I think you have the right attitude to life and especially you fully understand already the concept of compromise and mediative behaviour. This is not obvious and it will be of utmost importance in your future working life and it is not something you learn on a book, or in a week.

Said that, have great fun at UNI (as I did :) ), study and be great!

Bru

Cya, good luck with your Uni studies!

That was spoken very well. No matter how many update Tanki makes it will never be better unless they start listening to players.

Kirby, I totally agree on your view on pricing, buyer favorisation and the resulting pressure that is build up.

I like to enjoy this game.. like to play the maps that fit my battlestyle and spend time with my friends here in funny battles <->

instead of feeling forced to play polygon capture point half day long to build up a decent garage -.-

I fully understand that tanki is a business and that they have to earn money.

But in the end I as a person attend here to have fun. And feeling constant pressure is canceling the fun out.

Then it starts to feel more like an obligation, instead of an activity I like to use my precious spare time on.

Good Luck in your future life ;)

Good luck with your studies. You will be missed.

You are only saying what many of us have been saying for a long time but coming from someone like you, it will undoubtedly carry more weight. I'm glad you didn't just leave without saying your piece or your goodbyes. I hope, someday we will see you again but for now it's time to focus on the battle field of life.

Good luck and TO are losing one of the best.

I have not really played much on my main account since they messed with camera speeds which is a while back now. I can't afford to buy into this game now that I have to purchase vomit bags off eBay.

I have found a little fun taking an alternative account to wo5 but i'm at a stage there now where I either have to buy to compete or quit that alt and quitting is probably for the best.

I agree with you on all your points.

Fun for me stands around 10 to 20% of the time while anger and hostility accounts for the rest.

This from me, someone who has almost everything m4 and a most of the top paints mu'd to the max.

The game has constantly been chopped and changed for no good reason and I'm rapidly losing interest in it myself. If it wasn't for my friends here, I'd have left ages ago.

Other game sites have upped there email rate recently. Maybe they sense some kind of mass tanki exodus and want to capture entice us in.

Anyway, good luck at university.

Best,

AZ
