  1. 1. Which piece in chess is more important given the fact that both are worth 3 points?

The Bishop is way more important to me when I play, I generally make use of both to severely limit the moves my opponent can make on the other side of the board where possible. They're like sniping pieces, always useful...

Not that I play that much, but yeah ^_^

Knight is more valuable in the early game, Bishop is more valuable in the late game.  This is due to the Bishop being restricted by other pieces early on while the knight can jump over other pieces, but as the game goes on, the field opens up, making the Bishop more effective.

Knights even though they have less range than bishops they are more versatile. :) Though one piece will become more important than the other in different circumstances as the game progresses. :)

It completely depends on how the game is played, who you are playing, and how you play. It also depends on how the game goes.

Personally, I like horses more, but you can't do a four move check mate with your horse, can you? :P

The knight; there's no better feeling then when you have forked your opponents' king and queen, and the only thing your opponent can do is move the king, and then you get the opponents queen. However, in the very beginning of the game, it is possible with your bishops to take out the opponents rooks if they're not careful. Nevertheless, I still think the knight is more valuable.
