What do you say about that doncarnage !?

I personally do not support a negative reputation system.

Likes don't need an explanation, it's a sign that you enjoyed the post/agree with what the player has said. Now, on the other hand, dislikes are not nearly as expressive. Why did you disagree? Because there's a better way? Because they're extremely incorrect? Because what they said offended you?

If you disagree with someone, you should have to explain why you disagree with them. You need to bring more to the table then just "You're wrong", because otherwise you could be equally, or more, incorrect. A disagree without an explanation is practically useless because no one should have any reason to think your disagreement is correct.

can some one tell me how to downvote?

You can't, we do not have a down voting system.

I totally agree with this update. Less post reputation wars, and just like Semyon said, if someone disagrees with something. they should post something, not just downvote it.

Well I don't want to say I told you so, but I believe the cause and affect of removing the downvote option may create an explosion of flame wars on the forum.

Personally I don't miss the downvote at all, I rarely used it, and if I did, I most certainly posted comments regarding that action.

Scratch that.

I was just looking up some previous posts through my profile page and looking for a post that I had down voted as something I was unhappy with and/or disagreed with, I am now realizing anything I was opposed to has been removed from my profile contents.

It effectively shows people who view my Forum reputation a one sided view only showing things I agree with or approve of.

This paints a one sided picture.

How can you judge someone's character when all you see is the pretty stuff.

It's all gone every down vote I ever made is gone, every issue I ever had about the game or player has been erased.

Umm, I think that like without an explanation is as useless as dislike without an explanation .

Why didi you agree  ? Because of the way ? The target ? etc ...

On the other hand, Dislike is a sign that you don't a agree/like  the post .

If I had posted a suggestion that received many downvotes,

I would not feel harassed or personally attacked.

I would feel like it was not a popular suggestion.

I am really curious. Has ANYONE on this forum ever felt harassed by the dislike button?

The reason why Facebook only provides a "Like!" button is because giving people only one choice eliminates honesty, exchange of ideas, critical thinking, or objective truth.

Oh....

With the new system you are identified by name as "liking" a post.

Anyone "liking" a post everyone else dislikes opens themselves to harassment.

Also, there is no such thing as a "negative reputation system"

Reputations are made by combining positive and negative feedback from the community.

It is impossible to have a "good reputation" without negative feedback being possible.

All this hate , and they haven't turned it back....

It just proves they wanted to get rid of the dislikes on every update.

Exactly  !

First time that I agree with robbie ...  In 100% ...

Then they should make it where when you downvote a post, you can leave a short message about why you disagree  with them. Maybe about 20 characters.

Russian and Freedom of Speach just don't go together

This update was needed for one very basic reason, Toxic communities can be a game killer as Dmitri Williams would say, and this community has a pretty bad problem, downvotes is only part of the issue, I could go into detail about this, but it would only add to the current problems.

Needless to say, in-community toxic behaviors can drive groups of players away from the game.

I don't think a like without an explanation is the same as a dislike w/o. If you're liking what they said you're agreeing with their evidence, whereas if you're disliking you're saying their evidence is wrong (for example). In the V-LOG you should have to show why their evidence is wrong, hence you need to make a post.

It's not possible for us to implement a system where you can dislike and then are forced to make a comment on why. If you dislike what someone says quote their post and say why.

They were removed so we can see a better propaganda. Well played, Tanki and mods, well played. Don, when the hell was the community asked? We all know it's just bs, you decided to remove because now people can't see tanki's fails that obviously. Now all we can see is the whole staff liking because they love free crystals.

Do you really think that pages and pages of people complaining in detail is LESS toxic than a little red down arrow with a number beside it?

Ask me with your main account please.

I have read quite a few of your previous posts, and I agree completely with almost everything you have said in the past.

I'm sorry if I came off as confrontational, it was just meant to be simple question.

If I received 100 downvotes on a post, I understood that it was an unpopular idea.

To me that is less toxic than reading pages of posts about WHY my idea was unpopular.

That's just my opinion of course, and I was curious about yours.

Well seriously, unless your name is Semyon on your other account I seriously doubt that your posts get pages of posts about why your idea was unpopular. ROFL

Truly, its only a band-aid that only addresses part of the issue.

Dmitry could enlighten you on the complexities on the subject.

So how did you EVER get the "report" button to work? Such a system can't be that much different. Oh wait, maybe you can blame it on FLASH. Just tell us the truth. You can't be bothered. You also know that guests will not bother to read all the posts looking for negative comments and will only see all the "likes". So to an outsider everything looks all wonderful and happy.

BUT if a guest came and saw all the dislikes they might just leave.   It's all about public perception and nothing to do with the players already here and wanting to hear our opinion.

When I'm in disapproval of any decision by the staff/player I tend to dislike the post so that people gets a general idea on my attitude towards it. A whole article isn't always worth the efforts and I'm not obligated to do so.
