Is micro upgrading a hull/weapon fully cheaper than just buying the hull/weapon?

Lets say I have isida M0 and I want isida M1, Is it cheaper to micro upgrade and wait a bit, or to just buy the m1?

It really depends on how much you earn, how often you use the turret, when the next upgrade unlocks and how effective the upgrades are.

 

I got Wasp M1 on my Low acc, @SniperCats, at WO1.

I immediatly started MU it and by WO5 it was equal to M2. As it unlocks as one of the first M1's and unlocks as the last m2, It was worth it in my case. 

 

Say for Isida M1-M2, maybe the first few MU will be worth it but as it unlocks early at M2 the advantages wouldn't be worth the crystals.

 

Have a look at the time between upgrades, if that is quite big only MU it fully if you earn enough and use it basically all the time :)
