Wikimania Contest 2017 - Winners Announced

When are the winners going to be announced? Didn't the contest end like last week?

Ended 6 days ago. As said before, we're up to the final few parts of results. You have to understand that judging 100 entries and plagiarism-checking them isn't exactly an easy process.

Consolation prize...  -_- still not bad. Gotta admit, @Skills.n.Girls' entry was far better than mine, but disagree with @Etiquette and 's placements, simply because of unprofessional formatting. Plus, professional writing should not be written in first person.

However, I refuse to complain. Judging is done as fairly as possible, and I respect that.

Well, thanks! I really gave it a lot of effort. Didn't have the best images, especially because I was in the hurry and my connection to the internet was limited at some points of time.

65K crystals? ==(^.^)==

Can someone tell me what is wrong with my entry? http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=297527&p=6231856

The entries have not been judged on merit. There was no proper criteria for judging. What is in etiquette's guide that you don't see in my guide. And the thing is, I don't even win a consolation prize. What kind of justice is that? Is that what you want your Tanki to be?

Like, I have everything in detail. You said to follow the official format but you did also say to write the guide in your own style. My 10 days of writing must not be laid to waste. I worked so damn hard and I don;t even get a consolation prize.I request you to revise some of the winners and replace those with other more focused entries. At least give me what I deserve. Thank You.

It is so injustice and injustice literally angers me be it in a Tanki contest or in my  country!!1

Look dude, everyone think their entry is perfect and that the others were not as good. I know as that's how I feel when entering contests.

In regards to judging, we didn't only look at the content but the layout used, the tactics explained and quality of English.
If you wish to have a proper discussion of your entry, flick me a private message.

Not gonna discuss it here, dude

It is because my entry is perfect.or at least close to perfect. Did you not look at how I managed to clear the concepts and provide all "to the point" information. I want you to take a look at my entry. I have used .gifs and images which are accurately described. What else does a guide have? The layout is just what it must be. Take a look at Alexander's layout and you call this a layout. That is like everything jumbled up and that makes no sense. I have categorized everything, designated them with numbers and I don't even get a consolation prize.

And if you think my English is bad, then I don't believe anyone is perfect at English.

I don't think you quite understand how contests work. Whining or complaining doesn't achieve anything. If anything, you saying that your guide is "perfect" and bagging other people's entries only makes you look worse. We thoroughly went through the entries which we deemed as exceptional and chose the best. Sorry but irrespective of whether you took 1 hour or 10 days, we don't exactly judge anyone on that. Next time, work harder. We will not be revising/changing the winners, sorry.

As GaIaxy explained, we will not be further discussing this. If you wish to further pursue your case, hit us up with a PM. ;)

This type of contest is a bad idea. So much time and effort put by many people and only few will get rewarded. Yes, you can point at the rules, then the ToC and whatever but still doesn't feel right.

Because that's how contests work. Have you ever participated in a nation-wide contest? Hundreds of thousands of entries get posted, but in the end, it is only the three deserving winners who get compensated/rewarded for their work.

In all fairness, we were actually quite generous. 14 people out of the 90 participants were rewarded/compensated for their work. We weren't actually supposed to have Consolation Prizes but we did it as a gesture of appreciation for the participants. If there was an exceptional guide for Skyscrapers, that would have been 15/90 winners,

Woow, I had not expected to win anything as I had no time to reread my entry. :D I saw there are some typos when I reread it a bit later after the contest was closed. :p

Contest: noun
An event in which people compete for supremacy in a sport or other activity, or in a quality.

Contest is good idea, only not participating is bad idea.

100% of the winners did participated.

It's actually a good learning for real life, and i'm worried on how you will cope outside the comfort of your home.

Well done for all the participants and congo for the winners.

Yay! I'm quite astonished by the results, as there were so many great entries, I didn't think mine would stand a chance. Congratulations to all the winners, your entries were surely marvelous! And most importantly thank you to everyone who helped to create such a wonderful contest, you lads did a grand job with this one.

Congratulations to all the winners! You lot deserved it.

It took me 20 minutes to decide if I should post something here mainly because whatever I post will only make me sound arrogant even though I have good intentions.
In all honesty, congratulations to everyone.
