How is the Japanese going with you so far?

It is fun and learning about the culture is amazing. It was very hard to get started since there is technically three languages in one, but I tried the romanised version and started to pick things up quicker. For me, the most difficult part is trying to remember all the rules for each type of Japanese languages/dialects ( Kanji, Katakana, Hiragana). Honestly, Japanese in general is incredibly difficult ( from what I've heard it is even more difficult for native English speakers ). As of now, I can hold a very brief conversation ( I've tested this with my neighbor whom is Japanese).
