I received a message from the past!

Hello everyone! I would like to show you an amazing website called FutureMe (futureme.org)! So, you might be thinking, "Hey, what does that website even do?". Well, I'm not gonna present you an entire speech about the website. But in short, it's a facility using which you can message your...er...FUTURE!!! Confused, huh?

 

Upon entering, the website looks something like this:

 

 

 

It's kinda like sending a standard mail. I will give you a brief explanation about the working of the website:

 

You type your email address, subject, pictures, etc. but there's an option called "Deliver on". What does that do? That is the date when your message will be delivered to your email. It is set to 1 year later in default. You write your letter, send it, the server saves the message and delivers it to your email on the specified date. It's like sending a mail to your future!

 

However, this is not what the topic is about. I want to share something with you. One year back, around this time, I was writing a mail to my present self. Today, I opened my email with the expectations of receiving a closed beta testing invitation from Tanki. Instead, I found the message I wrote a year ago: http://prntscr.com/9ay0eu

Dear Future Supratik,

 

You sure did grow up! Remember? Congratulations if you're still alive and working! I hope everything there in the future is going alright? Is everyone okay? If not, sorry. Today, when this letter is being written in the past of you, 6th December 2014. This was the day when you're exams ended. You managed to talk to her a bit, but you forgot to wish Happy Holidays! Actually you were too unconfident to wish so. I don't know what happened to you with her right now. Well, I am your past and you can never get me back. And remember what Vsauce said? In the episode, 'Misnomers', Michael said that almost every cell in our body gets replaced. So who knows, the one who typed this message might not be the one who is reading? Well, its complicated. And haha! Remember yoloblomlmtaasosbtdpwkeoboiodawcheoboitod? It meant 'You only live once but living once means living many times as a series of similar but technically different people who know each other but only in one direction and who can help each other but only in the other direction'! And don't forget, you copied this from Nabil Shad Rahman's chat box! So future boy, I am telling you what is going on today, in the past, bringing back you some of your memories. You are trying to play fireflies on your small screen phone, struggling! You are level 20 on Clash Of Clans today, in the past, you are in the clan called 'Warriors'! You ate chicken which your mom cooked and you found it very tasty as it was very soft and yummy! And remember? You woke up at 5:00 AM in the morning to study the remaining questions? You told your Mom that you will sleep till 8:00 AM tomorrow, in the past? Probably you forgot.....or are you remembering? Maybe you're crying right now.....memories...Do you wish that you come to this day, the day you were right this message? You were thinking right now whether I will cry in the future or not. Enjoy your life, man! Life is beautiful! Remember? You used to think, 'I have problems, but I won't call God, I will survive the pain'. You used to think, 'Problems disturb us, but life continues'. You believed that you had the power to defeat the bad guys when you get angry. Did you even changed? If you turned into a bad guy, please just remember the day you were writing this mail. You are a good guy, caring for people. Please change if you are turning bad. Study well. Don't spend so much time on games although I am doing it right now. But understand! Isn't it amazing, reading your own written message? It is really nostalgic, remember all the different feelings you felt to this day. On this day, the time you were writing this message, you were trying to put as much as things that you will read as memories in the future! And btw, remember you loved claiming money from YiPPee! noodles? Remember how your crush look beautiful in the class group picture? Remember you said, 'Whenever I will feel sad, I will look into this face'. In the past here, tomorrow you're sister is coming! You have a photoshoot by Mia Archangel tomorrow! I don't know if you missed it or was present in it, after all, I can't read the future. Smile once in front this message. You are now 1 year older than the past me. :) Thank you for spending your time in reading your own past message. Tears forced out of my eyes. I'm reading a message sent by my past. Nostalgia started surrounding me....I was just unable to control my tears. I wrote everything single thing that happened to me that day. I wrote about the chicken my mom cooked for me, my level in Clash of Clans, my photoshoot in Tanki, my crush and everything else! I'm even laughing at my poor grammar.

 

This is just...amazing.

I recommend everyone reading this to send a message to your future. Trust me, it will warm your heart when you read the message you send today in the future. It will be a moment you have never felt before.

I also want you to share your messages to the future in this topic! Yeah! Show everyone what you're writing to your future self!
