Well it's become perfectly clear who this game's target audience is. It is little naive kids who will realize too late that they should have spent their crystals on equipment instead of these useless gifts. Who in their right mind is going to spend 100500 crystals on a useless "blue sphere" ?

Exactly. That's why they rush these so-called gifts before the Valentine's weekend. Those kids will definitely ask their parents to buy crystals for them for the virtual gifts. We have to understand that in the "cyber-generation" virtual items are better than real things in real live; they are willing to pay lots of real money for virtual  items. Tanki gets it right to the point.

I was mislead by these 'gifts', without paying enough attention I thought the idea was to send gifts of crystals!

 

However, I can understand that the idea of actually sending crystals to another account would ruin the game economy and could be hacked.

 

So I probably broke the rules when I sent a test gift from a lower account to my main account for 200 crystals.

Sure enough my lower account was debited 200 crystals and my higher account got none.

 

Sure this gift now shows up in my Profile for all to see - and makes it look like I have some friends!

 

What most of us really wanted was an improvement to the existing 'friend' process.

We would like to receive a short note to have a 'clue' why someone 'friend-ed' us (even a 'picklist' of reasons would be good).  I always imagine it was some amazing maneuver I did - but I can't usually remember what it was.  Or maybe they just want to 'mark me' to avoid being on my side?  I know I do upset some tankers from time to time, - I make mistakes okay!

 

We also wanted a way to mark some users as druggers (or 'non friends') - but that's another story - and this will never happen because Tanki needs the sales of 'supplies kits' to pay for it's existence - i.e. Tanki has been shown to love druggers at every opportunity.  I do hope Tanki continue to explore more ways to earn an income without the sale of 'supplies kits' which so obviously unbalance the battlefield.

I think it's interesting that if only the 'losing side' were allowed to use garage supplies this would in fact help balance the battlefield (the weaker side often needs help) - for some reason Tanki refuse to even try this.  Maybe they fear a loss of sales of 'supplies kits'?  I hope Tanki-X can get away from this drug sales dependence or at least allow equal amounts per tank per 15 mins - say 10 per 15 minutes is about the sweet spot.

 

The reason I put this here is to remind everyone that does not know it, an estimated 80% of revenue for Tanki comes from sales of supplies kits.  If I'm wrong why won't Tanki tell us the true figure? It should cost nothing to tell the truth.

Yes, ikr. I believe I also have mentioned earlier that we may just copy the pictures of the gifts and put them on our computer wallpaper if we really want to see these gifts on the screen. That's why many of us don't understand those who would spend their crystals, especially those cost a lot, to buy such virtual gifts (pictures, actually). But I know that some kids in this cyber generation really do care the virtual items more than the real things in the real live.

Ok, i was scrolling across and see happy and partly disagreeing minds. Well yeah, gifts that cost so expensive are quite weird but of course, who ever buys it and sends it to the player must both be linked together a lot - smelling it guys eh? The sphere is just for how much love there is between the couple, right the couple i don't mean girl and boy. I mean the sender and receiver. And with bit more of logic i was thinking, the 100k sphere could actually be send to player and give a certain about of crystals, of course up to tanki to decide. This is what I'd call donation feature, so a feature inside feature sounds right eh? Now, you can't say ''oh you would create alts to send to your main to get crys'' nope nope and nope. This feature would be only for the sphere and only it, since 100k is donation with big thinking as well if we take this into higher stage, lets say this is our case, someone gave password in chat, do you really think they'd have 100k? Naaa, It just don't add up, so of course this feature wouldn't have any abuse, of course someone could be a brick head (a solid brick brain not thinking) and write mean stuff, with introduction of the new rules and privacy something in that kind, you cannot abuse via gifts, since its against the rules - so the feature is backed up. I have nothing else to say than, read with care and don't read wrongly - causes problems when there's any misunderstanding for the couple. Couple = reader and writer. Not a relationship!

I should have said that once Tanki have fixed the drug imbalance problem hopefully in TX then I will be happy to contribute real money to Tanki and sending these gifts is a good way to do it.

 

I.e. I don't want to buy performance enhancements like 'supplies kits' because I consider this gives an unfair advantage, and I only buy MU with crystals I have earned on the battlefield, hence, buying gifts is potentially harmless.

Do Tanki realise that these so-called gifts are just some virtual pictures doing nothing?

 

If, and only if, I really really really want to have one shown on my screen, I can just simply copy the picture and put it on my computer’s wallpaper or something like that (of course I won’t cuz I am not stupid). The gift idea doesn’t make sense. It might work on some special days like Christmas or Valentine’s day…I don’t know.

 

I know it is not allowed to send crystals with these gifts because it will affect the game economics but how about some supplies? Even only one piece of supply attached to the gift to be sent to a friend. It can be limited to, for example, maximum one supply per gift, or according to the price/level of the gift, and no more than 5 gifts per month per receiver (gifts without supplies can be sent as many as you want). The gift system at this moment is only crystal/money sucking; it is only meaningful to Tanki, not players.

But small children with bad judgement don't realize that.

Otherwise they'd just use email.

it's true, during xmas quite some people complained, that they send gifts to their firends.. but they did not receive the crystals. And soem of those complaints read in a manner, like if they were written by grown ups

 

So at the moment:

It should be written somewhere in the garage, that this is just a kind way so say "Thanks you!!" and that the crystal amount will not be transfered.

 

For the future:

I really would like to see the possibility to give gifts and attach ingame stuff to it (crystals, supplies.. whatever). But I there must be some way that prohibits, that players create alternative accounts and transfer the stuff to their high rank accounts. So if you can come up with a solution for this one..
