Hello guys

Would this laptop be ok for playing tanki, i.e. no lags, no low FPS info.

Acer Aspire V5 561G

i5 4200U

Radeon R7 M265 2G RAM

full HD screen 15 inch

Thanks

edit:

I'm most curious how this radeon graphics + full hd screen will work in tanki. I never played on full hd screen.

As for the lags, much depends of your internet connection and even the game itself.

And as for laptop, if you can add another 2 GB of RAM memory. It's not expensive, and later it will be very useful. As well for Tanki X and for the other things to do at.

Also, you shall keep your laptop "software clean". Updates, latest drivers, turn off unnecessary programs starting with Windows, use CCleaner etc.

Tanki has horrible optimization, I still remember when they added GPU support for this game and haven't touched it since. No improvements to how it utilizes your utilities at all.

I have an old laptop, played 3D MMOs with models in excess of 20K polygons and on medium settings without dipping below 30 FPS. On Tanki it gets 17 FPS while on absolute MINIMUM SETTINGS. Tested out after a factory reset and clean install of Firefox, I might try various Linux distros and see how it does soon.

You wouldn't be able to play many new games with it at a steady frame rate, and games like Tanki would need to be played at low-medium settings. My last laptop had a similar graphics card and I managed to play new games like Far Cry 4, but I had to turn it down to the lowest settings and that was at 1600x900 resolution. Tanki I played on medium settings at 1600x900 and usually had 40-60fps. It really depends on what your preferences are, if you want 60fps at 1080p and max settings in newer games then you will need to get something far stronger.

What would the FPS on a laptop with 4GB RAM be like?

I'm not sure; I guess it would depend on how resource intensive whatever game in question is. It'd also depend on what kind of processor and graphics card the laptop has.

So I purchased this acer v5 mentioned in my 1st post.

At first glance, playing on it TO is not bad compared to my old asus with much older video card. Good fps, fluent moves.

Question: I can get Full hd tanki only thru web browser. In standalone flash I get normal resolution, not full hd. Why?

Thanks everyone 4 help.

Since your display is full HD, it will be scaled, which means everything will be enlarged.

Assuming you have Windows 10, here's how to fix it.

Running Tanki in Standalone Flash Player should now be in full HD :)

If you have Windows 8.1

Follow these steps

Right click your desktop, and click "Screen resolution"

Then once a new window opens look for an option called "Make text and other items larger or smaller" and click it

You will then see a slider, move that all the way to the left where it says "Smaller"

Click "Apply" at the bottom of the window, and restart your computer.

Regards :)
