Forum Polls: Introduce option to see member names for each answer

Recommended Posts

The poll system today anonymizes the answers.

So I can see results, but I do not know who voted what.

I like to have an option (during the creation/administration of the poll) where I can specify if the poll should be anonymous or not.

This is usefull for:

- polls about training times. Leaders could then tell apart the answers of their members from answers of some trolls, prankers, clan haters, enemy clans, ...

- polls about training attendance: who can come / not come to this weeks training?

- polls about clan wars: who can/not participate in the upcoming clan war?

- polls about scheduled battles: in the go-pro-club, we schedule drug-free pro battles for it's members, and I could really need a system, where tankers can report back if they can come/not come to a battle that is scheduled.

Would be awesome if this would be activated in the forum software you use.

Most likely it already supports it (as most forums do), and all you need is to configure it..

I doubt that it's possible. The forum engine only has certain features available in it, so there's only so much we can do to customise them. But good idea though.

Its awesome idea many noobs answer in your polls
if you want to make poll it will be like

  • Only for this clan/club members
  • Only for mods/admins
  • For every one

would be perfect :) , but very hard to archieve :(
To realise this, the forum would need to know, who is member of which clan.

The smallest solution that would help me out already, is if I see their names.

The forum itself has this information, as everyone can vote only once until he deletes his vote. To do this, the member ID must be stored next to the vote already today. The question is only how to visualise it.

But being able to see who voted for in a poll and the option to enable/disable it is already present in IP board forums. I've been on many forums where there's that option.
