Here's the deal on the ranking cup: Apparently, I missed the fact that ALL of our matches were today... So after defeating Fate of the Rail we had to forfeit to the next clan due to lack of players.

 

However, I'm still extremely happy with our team's performance. Great job, guys! Our first use of voice communication was definitely a success. We'll be more organized in the future, and we'll only get stronger equipment and experience-wise.

You forfeited the Bronze position to us (Gods.of.War) in the cup today, due to lack of players. We were also struggling but had 5 reliable ones which is the min requirement.

 

We also were not 100% clear on whether it would all take place in one go. For a while, until last night actually, many of our clan thought that the deal was to play one match in light format, the next match in Medium on Thurday 31st, and the finals in Hard format next week. 

 

Anyway, just wanted to say that both Elyrionn (Clan leader) and I (2nd IC) agreed at the time that we would fight you the next day if the tournament rules and refs had permitted, and we're kinda sorry that it worked out like for you. 

 

Maybe we'll meet in Medium or Hard format. But whatever happens, we'd be delighted if you'd join us for some practices or friendly clan-wars or even just come to our discord server for goofing-around and chat etc some time. You're very welcome. 

 

Clan leaders, may I have permission to post our discord link here?

Or..  do you guys already have a server of your own (it's free to set up, if you don't) in which case can we come visit and have a few virtual beers with you?

Congrats y'all; I'm expecting a summary of all that happened just fyi ;). 

Well, the first cup was New Light format, and our first match was against Fate Of The Rail, and beat them (results in spoiler). Then we all rejoiced and logged off, assuming that would be it for the day. I then opened skype about half an hour later to see DoS saying that we had to fight the other battles the same day. Of course, we had mostly logged off, and so forfeited to Biological Warfare, and got placed into a bronze match against Gods Of War.

 

I tried communicating with the leaders of Gods Of War and the RC refs to see if we could move the match to tomorrow, but was told by the refs that we had to play it today. So I made the map to check that they had a team, they did, and so we had to forfeit. (And I have to compliment Gods Of War on their manners, they would have been happy to play the match today instead, and maybe we could have a rematch sometime in future to see if the forfeiting made a difference...)

 

A valiant effort by FOTR, and they did play extremely well, considering we had better equipment, and voice comms. Also, thanks to Gods of War, apologies I made you all have to log on for basically no reason, but congratulations on 3rd place!

Please stop cheering already. Did we get out of Newcomers yet? No. Have we won the tournament? No. So stop looking to the future as a bright world where you have won battles. Let's not forget that Men who expect their future to be bright, can only receive defeat and pain as the sight. Some of you might contradict me saying that we are encouraging the clan or just sayin' good luck. The latter can't be given, it has to be made; the former makes men go straight into war, and lose their lives.

Instead, what we should do, is focus our mind and energy into combat, make no haste, and make each of our battles as meticulous as a Lapidary.

Yeah, you're right. Let's instead think about this tourney from a viewpoint where we already lost it. Hooray, that's fun.

 

Let HD be happy with the win at the very least. I don't see any historical examples of people who've lost battles just because they celebrated a win. Unless you count surprise attacks, which don't happen in TO tourneys.

A good point about the celebrations though would be that a few too many people are posting about it, myself included if you think about it. Again, gj on the first win and all that, be proud of it, but that's that - this amount of posts is not needed for any other victories here.

Not at the moment. We are in the middle of Ranking Cups and we need to focus more on them. We can't have a war in the middle of Ranking Cups.
