why not stalin, but hitler? Maybe people in other countries get offended when their name is cenored because some guy in germany did something bad?

If you are willing to study the mechanisms of what offends people, what works well with a standard in morals that is widely accepted through out various cultures and get yourself as deep in politics and history, so that you can craft a multilateral accepted standard of what is acceptable and what not in international internet forums - then you are highly welcome to contact the Tanki administration (not the forum admins, I mean the overall administration that defined the EULA and game rules) and offer your assistance there.

Up to then, small proposals towards forum moderators are not a useful thing to proceed, as we do neither define the rules, nor are the most of us (some may be, IDK everyone) that educated as stated above, to be able to work things like that out up to a quality that makes sense.

We don't make them, we can't change them - we can only apply them.

 

So despite that I understand very well where you come from.. it is simply not useful to continue on a "rules have faults" topic here in this thread.

I do not have to explain you "where you are coming from / what you are talking about", as you made your point perfectly clear, with all those examples on Stalin as well.

 

Maybe it works better this way:

If you are unhappy with the traffic laws in your country, then you should not start to negotiate with police man about it. They do not make the rules and laws, they just execute them. It will get you nowhere _and_ additionally consume a lot of time - your time and their time - with no result. It is simply the wrong address to talk to ;)

It's simple, rules give guidance and some boundaries, as it can't cover all the possibilities, a representative of TO will step forward and take the call. If a name is deemed not ok decision to sensor is taken, whether you like it or not it is not your decision anyway. People have the possibility to change the name, and you're lucky they do not ban your account for ever, so take the chance offered.

The aim of the game is to play the game and not to spend time on arguing on validity of the nicks, so don't dwell too long on this issue because TO will not.

 

On your side if you find a nick not ok, then use the helpline to flag it, a decision will be taken by TO/who ever can take the decision. 

So be smart choose a cool name and play the game.

Btw ass.. If i use word "ass" to call whoever i want, i cant get banned, right? Im just asking becaue i dont want to get banned cuz helpers provide misleading information. :) if i can get banned, you break rules, if i cant get banned, enjoy your new name.

This is second time im trying to follow game rules and.. i get nothing in return. My lesson- F*** the rules! Its better if you just ask someone else.

3. I'd make multiple accounts and keep each account to a limited couple of combos that are rather different from each other. That way I'd be able to budget better, and still get quite a bit of variety.

5. Nah, we plan on having a nice calendar for 2018.

To clear things out: custom battles will not contribute to compleation of daily missions. Though, daily missions will be rebalanced to fit match making system as compleating something like "get 1st place" in 10vs10 is a bit too hard to do in reasonable time.

I know I'm flogging an old horse but are there any plans to introduce a rent option for turrets?

I'm thinking of striker, but I'm not willing to waste crystals on an M2 or pay US$ to buy M3 unless I know I'll enjoy the turret.

At this point in time, we're not planning on introducing the rent option. We might do it at a later stage, but I can't promise anything.

 

Questions regarding Matchmaking:

 

1. Format battles. What happens to them?

 

2. Battles longer than 15 minutes. Still possible to play them and gain XP or are they gone forever?

 

3. Playing with friends with a wide rank bracket. Will the matchmaker accommodate?

 

4. 2v2s possible with the matchmaker?

 

5. If playing with friends, does it dump all of you in a battle with others, or say you have 5 friends, does it make a 5v5? What about clan battles?

 

I actually typed all the above in more detail, but it didn't post for some reason. Too lazy to re-type out the full things again so thats the basic summary of them :P

1. You'll still be able to play format battles by creating a custom battle. Nothing changes. You still earn xp and funds
2. You'll be able to create custom battles and earn xp and funds
3. Matchmaker, no. But custom battles might allow that. But we'll have to wait and see
4. No. The way it's planned, is to have 10x10. That said, things might change in the future.
5. If you create a battle group with friends (no need for a clan), the MM system will attempt to put you all in the same battle, and obviously in the same team. Then it will look for opponents for your team.

well if you're telling us certain words offend players, then why do we have Miss Tanki and Mr Tanki contest this could offend some players who are gender X and  it could be  insulting / offended to  them , also posting photo's of girls showing or demonstrating to sell there contest entry's with too much sex appeal to try and win , this is also offensive to some . so we can nit pick all of these things what tanki allows and what do's offend others , what is safe in one country is not acceptable in others. things are changing and Tanki should also change there way on which contest are permitted with out offending others .

But anyways - coop posted a part of the rules that state that players might contact the helpdesk in order to complain about rules.

Makes sense IMHO, because the average audience here is very young. Young people can be clever and mature too, but most are not. Discussing such stuff here would be a mess.. waste time.. and give no valid outcome.

I understand what your saying , but, yea the but word .. this is why he opened this section for player to ask questions and hopefully get answer's to them . and yea it is a complex area to touch on for rules , due to the fact some are out dated and were made since 2009 when game started , sure they have been trying to change some of the rules over time ( and yes I have had a few reworded to suit others ) in time the rest, we hope will be updated better or removed..

also I was not going after the rules, mine was more about the games contest.

1. There's no ONE favorite thing really. But there are lots of things I enjoy A LOT, such as the brainstorming session you and I had yesterday about Parkour. I love working with helpers to come up with new ideas to entertain the community. Definitely a big plus for me, is that this job flexes all of my skills, so it's like a really good, full body workout. That said, it also burns as much.
2. Well, "hate" is a strong word. I'll go for "things I don't really like", and that includes having to put certain people in their place because they're being a nuisance and a bother to the community. Don't get me wrong, if necessary, I'll swat these people without a second though. But I don't enjoy it. That's not what I'm here for. But if they ask for it, they're gonna get it. The really cool thing is though, that most of the time, it's the community itself that steps in and swats the trolls. That shows me that in reality, this is a good, positive and healthy community.  :)
3. V-LOG takes a huge bite out of my time. Then there's the writing of announcements, which also takes quite some time, especially when they're long and complex. But in reality, most of my time is taken up by a million small things. And it's REALLY hard to juggle everything and keep a good balance between the big stuff and the small stuff without neglecting anything.
4. Yeah definitely. For instance, I've been wanting to do more video.
