Kicked out of same server when playing with son---- WHY?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I am repeatedly kicked out of the game when my son and I try to play on the same server and in the same battle. If I get into server and game first, then he logs on to the same server and joins game, it can work, but not always.

Both computers are using Google Chrome. One computer is an apple, and the other is a PC.

This has only been happening within the past 6 weeks. Why has this been happening? Is there a work around or fix? Having one of us log in first, then the other hoping to get into the same battle is not a good option. It simply takes longer and does not allow us to enter the same game simultaneously, which is the reason why we play the game.

Thanks in advance for some feedback!

Hello,

I assume that you and your son are playing Tanki over the same connection (router). There is a small possibility that you and your son are using the same IP address so that is why you get kicked out from the battle.

Check the IP addresses of both computers using this link. And also read Connection Closed

Good luck

It often says please "connect to another server" because it is too full, or the "server is under maintenance." My speed is more than adequate. This is a recent problem, like last 1-2 months. We have played the game for about 2 years. I have a 60 MBPS account.

If I log into the battle and server first with my PC, then he logs into the same server and battle with the MAC, it seems to work better. If we stay in the same course (i.e. Rio) for battles, it seems to work flawlessly. The problem is when we move between battles, or when we first get on to play. If we try to enter the battle at roughly the same time, the PC (one I use) get booted with one of the aforementioned messages. The MAC gets into the server every time.

Needless to say, it's frustrating, when I know how it once was. The server is never overload when we play, and neither is the server under maintenance since once MAC gets on every time; thus the messages the PC gets are bug related.

Hey Spunks!

I also face this Problem when I refresh or change the server.Usually I wait 2/3 Minutes before refreshing again and it works fine.So whenever you get this issue, just wait 2/3 Minutes before Refreshing again.

As for the Problem of "Kicking from Server" well it might be due to Connection issues...

i know they implemented a new program about three months ago maybe this is part of the issue .. regarding using more then one account at the same location.. which makes not really much sense due to being at a library would be the same user address ..

That might be part of the issue, bydolord. I will post a screen shot when I get some time, that is, if I can recall how to do it on a PC running windows 7 =)

What I would presume doesn't have anything to do with your internet connection or your browser. I think that it is due to both of you using the same internet, which would have the same IP address. Usually people use different accounts on the same IP for multing or power leveling, hence why they are blocking both of you. I have no idea how to fix that though. I have never had to deal with it.

OK firstly, I would like to clear a misconception. No two separate computers can have the same IP, it's impossible. An IP defines a computer. You can't have two computer acquiring the same IP just like you can't have two humans having the exact same name - doesn't work. And if two computers did have the same IP, they both wouldn't be able to connect to the Internet.

Secondly, his issue is not due to Internet speed. I know that because me and my brother have less than decent Internet, yet we can easily play together.  The fact that this happened a few months ago, means something triggered such issue. Do you recall ANYTHING that might have caused this? Just remember the last thing you did before this happened.

Press PRTSC, open Paint, press CTRL + V, save. Go to image upload website, e.g. postimg.org, and upload your image. Copy the link/direct link and paste it here.

Anyways, I should probably actually try to help here. My advice is to try possibly playing on Incognito or on a Private Window (in the case of Safari).

That wouldn't solve anything, except for not saving cookies, history, ...

Two humans can have the exact same name. Check Facebook if you don't believe xD.

As for the problem, can't really justify anything unless you give us more detailed info about your recent changes, or provide a video/scree shot of the case.

External IP address is same if you are connected to the same network.

I'd like to apologize for my mistake. It looks like I was mislead. There are 2 types of IPs: Private IPs and Public IPs. You can't have two computers with the same private IP but you can indeed have 2 (or more) computers with the same public IPs. Again, sorry for my mistake.

Yea... it can be very confusing. My other post just made it a ton more.

Anyways, are you still experiencing the issue, Spunks?

This happens to me too! If I try to play with my son, one of us gets kicked out. It's not consistent behavior though. It seems to happen more when a PC is involved rather than multiple Macs.

The message I typically get when this happens is "server is under maintenance, please try another server"

My son and I play Tanki and when we both try to join at the same time from different computers, one of us often has trouble connecting. We get a "server under maintenance, please try another server" message. This can happen when joining or even mid-game.

I understand that we don't want takers logging into multiple computers at home to increase their stats, but when it's two different tankers in the same house that want to play together, it is really frustrating when we can't join.

Can something be done to improve this?

Hey! It seems you have either a slow connection or you are playing on servers that are constantly overloaded, may you tell us which servers you usually play on with your son? And also what browser you use, thanks!

It's not my connection speed. I check that every time we have the problem and I always have 50Mbps Up and Down. The servers we are typically on are EN6, EN7 and EN8.

We have multiple computers. When on a mac, we use safari. On PC we use Chrome.

If we keep trying long enough, it will connect and we can play just fine as long as it doesn't kick us out. I don't think it's overloaded servers either because when I check the server load on the computer that was able to connect, the server indicator is not red nor is the bar full.
