                                             Hello there :)

This topic is specific for moderators of all devisions. What was your motive to become a lawman in tanki online? Was it to feel the power? Or you signed up as a moderator just to enjoy the prestige and paint? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

P.S. This topic includes admins and candidates as well.

I got invited 3 times.  The first 2 times I declined.  The 3rd time @SuperNick95 happened to catch me just on the very day I was coming back to tanki after a 3+ month long absence, and I figured, well, might as well give it a shot and see how it goes.   Best decision ever !!!!

The most important part of life after the badge is this : 93082ce5.png

The little icon that constantly reminds you "bro you better read that doodoo before you hit post you something you !! "

The 2nd part is the joys of moderation, speaking from my experience as forum and clan mod, and its been one of the sweetest thing ever for me.   Very relax and cool thing and the all the positive feelings it brings.  Naturally it attracts some hate as well, but most of the time we don't mind it cause we know not everyone can actually read those Game rules or have simple common logic of any well behave individuals from good upbringings. But its part of the job to deal with all that and I've worked professionally in more challenging environments than a mere online forum, and it was nice being able to share my experience from there with the forum modding buddies I've made :D

So you're saying that managing the tanki forum was not your first major responcibility in administration?!

No, I've been a normal player just like you.  Went through all the normal troubles like all of you.  Account hacked, blocked, banned, left for 8 months, came back , made new one, made friends, made enemies, made rivals (way more challenging, intelligent and respectful than noob enemies) , joined a clan, lead a clan, went up , went down, left for 3+ months, came back, then started as clan mod and ref, then forum mod, then commentator, then admin and from there on soooooooo many various things that don't even get seen publicly sadly.

"admin gold pls"

When you're an admin (yes, I'm speaking from zero experience), you know you can't actually drop golds, but it feels awesome because everyone says it. On the other hand, when you see it in the chat every 6 minutes, you wanna kill yourself.

there's degrees of severity of how bad a karma can be.  some can be really really bad.  others mildly bad.  others with only minor offences and nothing really concerning.

karma is just one of the measures for assessing a candidate, there's others.  naturally we won't say it all, cause some clever guys will always find a way to try rig it.  but generally, if your karma is in a pitiful state, then might as well not waste your time applying.

in my case, my karma wasn't in its virgin state, but it wasn't really poor either.  + my other assessments weighed in nicely in my case and balanced the little things on the karma.  hope that answers your question

What I found interesting about you as an admin is, I'd expect an admin to be the "copy n' paste super complicated english stuffs" (pasta), such as;

"Due to the range of ages on this very game, we cannot allow you to behave in such a fashion, nor have you spit out words without thinking. Be thankful I'm giving you a warning before the official warning before the crucial ban, which, in your case, can be no lower than a week."

But you, you don't really seem to care xD You seem to put all the proper grammar and English aside, and type without capitalized sentences, makes it sort of fun, in a way.

Well, I am not a mod nor candidate (duh), but in the past, people(from personal experience) go through multiple stages in wanting to help. The first part is you want the crystals that they earn. At least with me, that was my initial motivation. The second is a want to help, but not quite ready for it, i.e. my recent wiki and reporter applications. The last is you actually gain experience and are ready to take on the responsibility that the job entails. I hope to go to the last stage soon.

I just really liked helping. I was active on the forum and especially on Questions and Answers (RIP ;() and on Problems and Solutions. So I tried to apply and got accepted. It was a really great time I had, with some bad times. But mostly amazing time till I had to leave due to studies. But now, being back, it feels outstanding!

Thanks for the compliment flae.. ^_^

Anyway, the reason I wanted to become a moderator was, because after over 4 years of playing this game I wanted a new challenge. Plus, I've always enjoyed helping people, which comes in handy for this position.

Actually, DS just forced me to become a mod.. <_<

Can't blame him..

What is forcing a woman to do something by the opposite sex called?

there is nothing wrong with women doing a man's job.. there are lots of women working in the mens trades ... why can't we .. if we have all the qualifications for it then yea we should get the same rights as a man even wages..i know this is only a volunteering job . ...the only info you really need to to know the info and history of the game next to where to get the links to help players.. and also it helps if you can speak a second language which most do now a days ( but me) ...also get along and not provoke players .. (sorry if i missed something ) ..

Absolutely, and also in Tanki. Some of the staff members are martians and women, including administrators (big boss and big boss @Yele)
