Hi guys.

 

As you all well know, our 3vil dictator @Lhamster has recently stepped down from the administrative position, leaving a glaring vacancy in the ranks. After a whooole bunch of discussion in the reporter group, it was decided that I would be taking up the reigns as co dictator the second reporter administrator. (And I've got the awesome new avie to prove it. :D)

 

Anywho, as Goldrock is busy procrastinating with irl stuff for all of this month, I'll be running the show on my own for this coming publication. But no worries, this is not a coup. He'll be back for Issue 56.

 

All in all, I'm really excited and a bit nervous about this new opportunity. It should be a blast.

A long time back we used to have a French reporter called @Raphael2 and I'm pretty sure he stepped down from his post cuz he never really wrote anything after 2 or 3 issues.

What I'm wondering is there any chance of getting a French reporter soon? I'd definitely enjoy reading some articles in French.

It depends on who applies... I'd say not very likely, but there's always a chance that someone with really good French and English writing skills will show up.

I don't remember @Raphael2 writing anything in English.

I can understand that it may be necessary for anyone who applies to have a good understanding of the English language to communicate with the Newspaper team but I suppose Raphael specialized in writing French and not English.

The French aren't usually great with English :ph34r:

Although, to add to the above, it's possible that a French applicant could be recruited and focus on writing French articles only while having a reasonable grasp of English. We actually have an example of the opposite - one of our Reporters (@Phoenix-Warbird) writes English articles only, but also has a good understanding of French!

I know of people who aren't French but have a good grasp over the language but I've rarely come across a French whose got good skills with the English language.

It's just that I'd enjoy reading some articles or stories written in French and probably the French community too.
