Here is the place for discussing the long awaited DM tornament update.

 

If you don't know what to say, here are suggestions: Do you like the update? Are the tornaments fair? Are there any bugs with them?

I'm Looking for discussion on DM tournaments. My question:

Is the battle funded only by entry fees or does the game itself contribute to the fund too?

 

For example, if If 10 players join, does the battle fund max out at 10k crystals? Does traditional damage/kill based fund growth also apply? At the same rate?

 

I saw one scoreboard which was distinctly unimpressive in terms of Crystal payout. Wondering if that was an anomaly.

 

Again, am I missing a thread somewhere? Oor Is no one talking about these Tournaments? Is anyone even playing?

The fund will start out as what people in that particular game have paid, and it will grow as normal. Therefore the fund will be higher at the end than when it started at the beginning. Fund also depends on number of players in a particular game. If there are hundreds of people, the total fund would be split depending on how many people would fit into a certain map. Once I had a game with 13 people. That means the fund wasn't as big as a full game. The fund grew as normal, and by the end I was 3 out of 8 people, and I got 1800 crystals. 

 

This probably sounds very confusing, but it answers what you said. 

I am also surprised by the unpopularity of this topic. I have seen some like "Are the tournaments even worth it?" But a decent amount of people are playing.

If I pay the money and enter a battle of the DM tournament, can I enetr the next game too, without paying twice?

Unfortunately, no. Each game is held on a different server (probably to prevent that). 

 

Anyways, I wish the registration fee was higher - more fund. And I liked it when we only played with people of our rank.. now it's changed. But on the bright side today seemed to have a lot of those no supply battles.. those are always fun to play once in a while.

And uh.. can someone edit the title to make it spell 'tournaments' instead of 'tornaments'? It's been bugging me :P

So it's gambling. Do well, and you are rewarded. Do 'meh' and maybe break even. Do poorly and lose crystals.

Not when drugs are allowed, anyway.

 

Plus, I can barely find normal battles at my rank. I'm highly skeptical that there will be Commander (non-Gissmo) Tournament DMs. I might try at some point to prove myself right or wrong.

That's not what gambling is about. Gambling is mostly based on luck, while a DM tournament, or any other tournament for that matter, depends on how good you are. If you think you're a good player, participate. If you think you're not good enough, don't enter, or work hard to improve.

If you're a good player, DM tournaments are a great way to earn crystals faster.

As a Commander, I'd rate myself 7/10.

 

When I play Gissmo battles, that drops to 5/10. In drug wars, I do even worse.

 

So I think DM TMs are not for me.

Maybe you could try one of the no supplies DM tournaments. And apparently players get assigned to a battle based on their ratings, which means that the better players (with higher ratings) face each other and the players with a lower rating will face each other. This should make the battles more equal.

Are they gone again? No DM yesyerday and same for today, I can't see them. And nothing in home page about Tournaments gone (again).

It starts at Marshal. There are very few battles which do not include Gissmos. You have to go to RU servers to find some, and even then they're rare. Adapt or leave. Leaving makes the problem worse for those left trying to make it through those last couple of ranks.

WTF ! top 100 rating of DM tournaments is changing while DMTs are off. The last day when DMTs were open I was 54th in the rating but now they weren't any DMT since and I'm 49th right now !!!

How then ranking ever change while no DMT has taken place since the last closure.

 

Some well-classed people lost their ratings like who was 1st in the TOP 100 with more than 3200 pts and now nothing. ???!!
