It all started while I was sitting in my office on the 500th floor of a skyscraper, chewing on my pen. "Ew! That isn't my carrot, that's a pen!" I said in sudden realization.

The door opened, and my assistant walked in to the room.

"We have evidence that someone is out to get you. Shall we work on this case, sir?" She said as she handed me a file of papers. I slowly took the file out of her hand and started flipping threw the papers.

"This isn't good, not good at all..." I said slowly "Who exactly is this rabbit racist we are discussing?"

"No one knows yet, bet I got a hunch. We know where he might be staying..." She said the last part in the whisper, although for no reason I knew, the only living things in my office were her, me, and my carrot... Oh wait, that's not living.

"We?" I stopped her in middle of the sentence in shock.

"Yes, we. Our team is: me (Night-Sisters), tweezers, and Contradiction. We hired secret agents to protect you." She said.

"Ohhh... Okay, continue." I said.

"Okay, well we think he might be staying at the Rétroper Hotel." She continued "So we should investigate, correct? Sir?"

"Yes, let's leave tomorrow morning at noon, that's usually when I wake up." I said.

"No time for that! We have to go now!" She said and before I knew it she pulled me out of my revolving chair and over my desk. We went outside where a car was waiting for us.

"Hop in!" Said the driver. "We don' have much time." So I did, along with Night-Sisters. It was quite strange: unlike my office which smelled like carrots, this car stunk weird. A guy sitting next to me who was snoring his head off.

"Wake up, it's time for school." I said while shaking him.

"What? Pancakes? Mom?" He said as he rubbed his eyes, he clearly was having the best dream ever when I ever so rudely disturbed his peace.

"Who are you?" I asked in while scanning him from top to bottom.

"Hello sir, my name is Tweezers, but you can call me Tweez, or Eez, or–."

"I'll call you Chatty" I said.

"I'd prefer not, just call me Tweez." He said with a groan. "So, are we almost there yet Contra?

"Who's Contra?" I asked.

"Ugh, you ask too many questions." He said "He's Contradiction, also known as our driver and top ranking nerd."

"Okay, I guess I'll be quiet now." I said feeling offended that he said I ask too many questions.

So from that point on it was just awkward silence, me and my phone, and a dark night outside my window. I got so bored I was about to hop over Tweez to see if it was a dark night outside his window too. But I held myself back.

. . .

Although it was total silence, every five minutes or so I would ask if we were there yet.

"Are we there yet?" I asked again for what only seemed like the second time, but what I knew was probably the fiftieth.

"NO!" Everyone shouted.

"Wow wow, no need to yell, my ears are big but very sensitive." I was mad at the fact that we still weren't there yet.

After at least 20 mins of driving, which is quite a lot in rabbit time, we made it. I bursted open the car door and flopped out on to the ground.

The streets were mostly dark but did have some light from the lamp posts. I was happy to be back in the shady streets, I felt like taking one of those dramatic walks down the dimly lit street, where I'd where my raincoat with the collar up, and my hat low over my eyes, while smoking a pipe, like the true rabbit detective I was.

For some reason the streets were much louder than they were back home in New York city. I wondered where we even were but I was to afraid to ask, I thought if I made one more squeak they'd all tie me up and stuff me back in the car.

We were at some sort of hotel beside a movie theater on the outskirts of a town. Although this looked like New York city, something was different, very different. I was starting to get suspicious as I took out my note pad and described all the people their, you know, in case they were criminals or something like that. I knew this was no picnic in the park. It was something dangerous.

Without saying a word we all walked into the movie theater. A very strange security guard was standing there. He was short, and fat, had a weird looking mustache, sun glasses (although this was the middle of the night), and an iPhone which he looked a bit addicted to. Anyways, he stopped the four of us.

"Identification please." He said. Night-Sisters, Tweez, and Contra, handed the security guard what must've been their ID in. "What about the rabbit here? You got your ID with you, sir?"

"Ummm, I don't think so." I said in shock. I wasn't expecting to ask me, I didn't even knowing if rabbit were meant to have an ID.

"Then you cannot enter this building, sorry sir! LEAVE NOW!" He suddenly yelled. But then Night-Sister turned and whispered something in my ear. The three went inside leaving the security guard very suspicious about what Night-Sister had whispered, and what I was up to.

I wasn't going to wait for the guard to ask me though. I dashed! Running between human feet, then at last, I made it to my destination. There was an open window waiting for me, I hopped in.

"Thanks for letting me in Night-Sister." I said in relief while taking a look around the room I was in.

I quickly realized however, that I was not in the room with Night-Sisters, but someone else, someone dangerous "It

appears, that you have the wrong room, sir." He said in a sly voice. I knew I was in a heap of trouble now.

"Who are you?" I asked, as I tried to cover up the fear that was screaming inside me.

"I'm someone who wants you out of here!" He replied, as he chased me out of his room. I ran out of the room, he chased me down the hall with a stick. After what must've been five minutes, I finally I smashed into someone's feet. It was Tweez!

"Pleased to meat you." Tweez said. "May I ask, what on earth were you doing chasing this individual down the hall with a stick?"

"Oh, that, um..." He said but clearly had no answer. "Oh look at the time, it's time for my next um... checkers match, with my cousin, down there, waaaay down there. I'll be going"

"Okay, bye then." Tweez said suspiciously, and when the man turned his back Tweez pulled out what looked like a gun, pointed it at the man and before I can shout "NOO!", Tweeze fired.

"Why'd you shoot him? I know he's a madman but still..."

"I didn't kill him. This gun shoots a substance that will simply stun you. That was no regular madman, Rabbit. Let's go back to Night-Sisters and Contra. I think we'd better have a meeting about this guy."

We both walked back to the main entrance. There Tweez told Night-Sisters and Contra what happened. When they finished, Contra gave a look at me for a second, then he said "Come with me everyone, into the elevator." And without even thinking, I did. Not because Contra told me to, but because that security guard saw me. He ran for the elevator, but he made it a second to late, the door closed. I laughed so hard because of his stupidity.

"Why're you laughing?" Night-Sisters asked.

"Oh nothing." I giggled.

"I need to, er, use the restroom for a second, I'll be right back." Tweez said. "Does anyone else need to use the washroom?"

"Nope, I'm good." I said.

"Oh, ya, I have to." Contra and Night-Sisters said together.

"Okay,  we're going to the washroom!" said Tweez oddly loudly. "Stay here Rabbit!"

"Okay, have a great time." I said. "Wait, that sounded so weird..."

I continued talking to myself, but after a few minutes, I suddenly stopped, almost automatically. The door creaked open, the madman stood there, scarier than ever. He came for me again. I knew he wouldn't give up so easily, but I had nowhere to run. I can't open doors, I'm only a rabbit. So I closed my eyes in fear, squeaking my last words.

"Oh carrot I loved you so much, I hope you know I loved you" I squeaked to myself quietly. I kept speaking, but I noticed that these last words were taking to long, so I opened my eyes. "Am I dead, is this heaven? Wow it looks so much like the building I was just in."

"Nope, you're still alive." Contra said. "We kinda lied to you about the washroom thing, we knew he'd come running for you again, we just needed some easy way to lure him to us, to chase you again, so we can catch him."

"Rabbit, meet Remaine." Night-Sister said cheerfully as she pointed at a tied up madman.

"Pleased to meet you Rem-ai, Rem-i... I hope you don't mind if I call you Rem. But may I ask, why would you chase me? Have I done something wrong?" I said.

"First of all, I go by R.H. now, and yes!" He replied angry and clearly struggling to break free.

"What does R.H. stand for?" I asked in confusion.

"Rabbit Hater!" He yelled.

"Woah woah now, no need to yell." I said. " Wait! Did you say Rabbit Hater!?"

"You bet I did! Remember me? I worked in an office a floor below you on the 64th floor on 893 Bowling Street?" He said.

"Oh yes, now I remember you." I began to raise my voice. "Well you deserved it! Why wouldn't I have? You–" I tried to recap what happened that day, but I got interrupted by Tweez.

"Enough with the chit chat guys." He said. "Remaine, you're coming with us!" He said as he put hang coughs on Rem.

"Aw great.." Remaine said sarcastically. We left the building without that silly security guard. Then ran for the car, hopped inside, Contra threw Rem in the back of the car, closed it, and off we went!

. . .

After some time we finally arrived at the Greensberg City jail. Contra parked the car, and we all got out. Tweez pulled Rem out of the back, and although half asleep, I could tell Rem knew where he was. We all walked towards the police station door, it wasn't so easy, Rem was still trying to escape. Night-Sisters was about to knock on the door, when all of a sudden the door flew open.

"Hello fellow folks! How may I help you!?" He asked enthusiastically.

"How are you?" asked Contra.

"Never been better, how are you?" he replied.

"Good, I suppose. This mission was surprisingly easier than I anticipated." Contra said.

"Anyways, pleased to meet you, my name is Issho Fujitora" he said.

"Okay, Mr. Fujitora, we have a prisoner for you." said Tweez.

"Name of prisoner, please." he replied.

"Remaine" Tweez said.

"Did you say Remaine? That guy is most wanted here in our little town."

"Really?" I asked.

"No" He said with a laugh. "The most wanted person here is the guy who keeps stealing my doughnuts."

"Well, congratulations to him on being capable of committing such a horrible crime." Night-Sisters said. "But we really do need this guy locked up ASAP."

"No problem, follow me!" he said loudly.

We all followed him into the police station. "Here we are, at last, the slammer!!!"

"Okay can you just lock him up and flush the key down the toilet?" I asked. "I don't want him out of there."

"Um, I'll try to remember that for next time I visit the washroom." he said. "But you gotta sign these documents first."

"What documents?" Contra asked. "I don't see any."

"Oh you'll see em' all right..." He said as he took out literally hundreds of papers.. "Okay, sign here, here, here, and here..." I wrote my signature at least one thousand times on all those papers. "Okay, I have all the info I need. Into the slammer, Remult!"

Issho unlocked the hang coughs, threw him in the jail sell, slammed the door shut, locked the door, and done! Well, except for the flushing the key down the toilet part.

"Thank you Issho." Contra said. "Come on guys, let's go home!"

As we walked out Rem yelled out.

"Rabbit! I am the Rabbit Hater!" He yelled. "We both know I'll get out, and when I do, be ready to die."

"Yea yea yea, keep dreaming." Tweez laughed, as I walked away. We all got in the car and started our long drive back home. Although it seamed like this adventure was over, I felt deep inside that what Rem said was true. It wasn't the end at all. Rem would return.

TO BE CONTINUED!

–––––––––

I wrote this back in September of 2014 and published it in my old creativity topic, Yisroel.Rabin's Articles. There's nothing there I'm particularly proud of, it was all newbie writing, but I think this series is decent enough to be published here. This isn't an exact copy of the one in my old topic though, it has been proofread and changed a few places to make it easier and more enjoyable to read. If I see people enjoy it, I'll do the same for the rest of the already written parts and perhaps try to finish the whole series (I never did in the old topic).

- Changed the font colour from bright yellow to a slightly nicer, more readable light yellow,
- Split the three sections into proper paragraphs (it makes it much easier to follow),

- Proofread and edited some grammar mistakes.

If you check the original, you'll also find the characters names are different from this version. I changed the names because the whole point I used actual players as characters in the first place was as a fun extra, and since most of the players in the original have quit Tanki, I decided to switch the names to modern day players.

Characters updated from original (old → new):
