Meltdown: Perfect Criminal

This is the continuation of Meltdown, which was the sequel to Supremacy. I apologize for the delay, but yea, the suspense factor strikes. This may be eerie and a bit dark from the end, and yea, go guess what happens next, and who on earth are Melter, the secret information voice, and the last voices. ;) :P

Lucy moved forward straight to the laptop, rather scaring Stephen Stallinton. “She’s gonna check the file now and that’d be disastrous. Shall I stop her?” he asked the two mysterious outsiders on line with Steve and Victoria Stallinton, his younger sister.

“No, don’t. She has the right to learn the truth, we don’t have the right to stop her from learning the truth,” one of the outsiders said.

Hearing that, both Steve and Victoria stopped, willing to allow the girl to learn the truth.

She reached forward. The two girls together read the document, their uncle and aunt looking helplessly, fearing the likely response.

The response was in no way likely.

“Oh, wow, so many secrets, hidden away. Well, it has been for the good indeed, and thus it is not a problem that the secrets were hidden from us for all the time we lived,” the older Lucy said, calmly, with barely any signs of shock, and none of pain, fear, or hatred.

The two were placed on line. And almost instantly, a male voice was heard. The male outsider on line, called F1 or Melter, spoke.

“I got pretty serious news. James Terrortron just died of a heart attack, but I don’t think it is as it appears,”

“What do you mean, Melter?” was Victoria asking, puzzled.

“Someone murdered him, by purposefully causing a heart attack. It’s a murder, and it’s time to find who this person is. Let’s get to the murder scene first,” the reply came, and it brought surprise to all the faces.

Advanced Weaponry Laboratories, London, Britain.

It was the murder scene, Terrortron’s lab, or rather, the headquarters of a rather massive weaponry and defense company. The team was here, looking for clues, but they were having difficulty.

“Nothing here at all. Searched everything and everyone in close proximity, including his body, but there’s nothing at all. No chemicals, no weapons, no holes or cameras, no fingerprints. Rather impossible, to be honest,” Steve said, with the two outsiders still on line.

“That’s it! It can only be one person whom I know. Darren Foureth Thundell. Another physicist, who also has sufficient knowledge of chemistry, biology, and medical sciences for such murders, and also creates weapons. Though I can’t yet figure out what his intentions and motives are, and why he committed murder,” Melter exclaimed.

“Time to follow this guy, because he’s really the only person capable of this, due to his near perfect AI and robotics supporting him. He’s almost a robot now, and he should be capable of removing any clues,” Victoria said.

“Wait. Why is James’ body right here? Even if it’s an artificial heart attack, he should still have been sent to a hospital in an ambulance. Can’t believe no one noticed this,” Lucy reminded.

“It’s because before dying, James told his brother Dave to not call an ambulance or any other service, but rather, he asked him to close the area as a crime scene and call us,” Melter answered.

Then, he made a call straight to Darren.

“Hello. Darren, you at home?”

“Obviously, where else could I be? I work at home, so yeah, I’m at home,” the reply came. Melter hanged up.

“There you go. Darren just told the truth and apparently he’s blown his cover. Time, to go raid his home. Let’s go!” he announced.

“No, no, no, do not do that! He’s luring you, he is at home, but he’s already prepared a proper trap, while getting away. I’ll need you at Fireland, and you know what I mean. Bring the rest, but make sure they’re under cover. As for you, go to T9, with me,” another outsider voice said.

And then the team heard a voice. An explosion. Tiny, but major. No screams, no casualties, but there was an explosion.

Thunder. Explosive guns.

And then, the team saw more. Electrical malfunctioning. Meltdown. It all looked purely coincidental.

Then, the team witnessed something unclear. It could have been a theft, something destroyed, someone murdered; but it was unclear.

Then a boom. Electrical failure, looking like another coincidence.

And then someone said,

“Looks, can be deceiving. Exactly what the perfect criminal exploits. No clues. No evidence. All natural, all coincidental, but all a deception. For it was never coincidental.”

Finally, a slightly bigger explosion. Windows blew. The remaining melted. And then, gunshots.

“All a deception. Now, you never live to find me,” the same voice said. And one gunshot, and one meltdown.

..................

Blackout.

Whiteout.

Scream.

Stab.
