What types of things are TODAY'S KIDS into these days?

Kids are into multing the freeze-hornet combo.

That vacuum cleaner noise damn annoying, it sucks out my ears and then keeps going for my brains and nose. I don't know who would want my brain anyways, but those kids sure do!

Who's Hanna Montana? CD iPods & MP3 players are replaced by smartphones, or "cellphones".

I'm not interested in Justin Bieber.

I am interested in the Internet and my phone, frankly if you're not, you're dead.

I'm also interested in plenty of other things, like climbing, photography, motor vehicles, the Arctic and books/audio books.

I kinda get your point though, I only know one other teenager whos into photography or anything creative, and another girl who's into climbing. Plenty of peeps are into cars, but all they seem to know is how fast they go and thats it.

The '80s and '90s were simplier times. If you were a child or teenager back them you can appreciate what I am talking about. Being a kid then was different then being a kid this century (2000s- 2010s).

If I am going to make comics appeal to today's kids I need to know what types of things they are into now.

I would suggest doing some research on your own. Use your search engine. I put in,"Cartoons that interest modern children" and got wealth of information. You may have to do a lot of reading to get an idea of what type of cartoons interest you.

You might bare in mind that texting is bigger than verbal communication. As one teenager put it, "You can talk about the person next to you and they won't know it." I've seen older teens on a date texting each other back and forth instead of talking. More privacy, I guess.

You have to decide which age group you are wanting to target.

What subject matter you want to get across. Examples: Love, hate, helping others, gangsters, or maybe invent a Super Hero that fits today's society.

If you are just starting out in the field of cartooning, you have a lot of research ahead of you. Obviously, you don't have any young kids of your own. But what about kids in your neighborhood? Maybe you can visit your local school and talk to some teachers or even the Principal. if your church has Sunday School or other children activities, go there.

I'm an "oldster" who never had kids, so that's the best I can offer.

Um.. I thought he posted kind of a rant against modern kids and what kinds of things they're in, which has a LOT of disadvantages, and isn't gonna help this whatsoever xD Still helpful for others doing similar things who are present in TO forum :P

I think kids of 2050 will be playing in Virtual Reality? Who cares... We're progressing. We can't stop expect kids to be like the older generation. Any comparison without making any allowances for technological boom is quite inaccurate.

By what standard?

I work at a summer camp, where most of the campers are kids under the age of 13. Most of them are into video games. Minecraft used to be a super popular one, but worryingly, I am hearing kids playing COD and Overwatch. They also like sports. The most popular is Soccer (I live in the United States).

I (as a teen) am into photography, video games, technology, computers, life (in general),sports and food. Well... if you ask someone else they will simply tell you that facebook (and other social media) is a really big part of their lives (where they take ''likes'' very seriously) and all that matters is their popularity among other kids in their age.
