Sorry, but it is a little bit too late now.

Looks cool. Too bad I can't go :(

But I wish you all a good time in China :)

You don't need to go there for trying out Chinese food! I am pretty sure there is a Chinese restaurant in your city.

cool! im chinese too! i ate dumplings for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 30th!

新年好!

:D Happy New Year to you too!

Fun fact, I was born on the very day of the Chinese new year.  In my little island of a country it is well celebrated and even a national holiday.  So each year silly me do celebrate 2 birthdays, my normal Gregorian calendar birthday + I consider each spring festival my Chinese birthday and so on that day we made it my tradition to cut a glutinous rice cake as my Chinese birthday cake :D

I am a little bit confused, if you were born on the day on the Chinese New Year, do you have different birthday dates? Because each year the New year does not fall on the same date.

When New Year arrives:

After the dinner, the children usually wait until midnight and set up firecrackers and my goodness those are really loud! In China, you can find a set of 1000 firecrackers or even more and make them all crack together; I can assure you that is a pretty big mess (especially for the people that clean everything up). We can hear boom, crack and bang all night, do not even try to sleep.

Officially I have only 1 birthday on the 29th of January, but for every spring festival I have an unofficial birthday as well, and the latter is the one I prefer the most.  I do not know why, I don't get any gifts or much birthday wishes at all, even the ones at home are like "yeah sure whatever happy birthday China son" , but still, I feel quite a bit speshul on that day, even more so than on my regular birthday.  Hard to explain :D

No, they don't mean to be racist by calling me china son, its more of them poking fun at me for being such a wannabe
