So a mod came and locked up all the Q&A topics stating that it's against the rules to create topics about specific players.

I don't see what was so wrong with those topics as the topic owner was mainly talking about himself/herself.

Those topics were not pertaining to any particular player or clan and there was no flaming, insulting or trolling of any sort. Then why did they have to be locked down?

Was Cedric breaking a forum rule when he started his AMA topic? I don't think so.

Agreed that quite a few people started following that trend so do you think we could make a particular section for that?

I'm pretty sure that all those who started those topics only intended to talk about themselves and I do not see anything wrong about it.

I added the reason when I closed them, and as I told some of the topic owners, if we will allow this to every single player, the forum will flood with with them.

Its against the section rules to start a topic about a specific player anyways, however we are thinking of a way to allow players to do this without flooding the forum, if you have any suggestion feel free to share.

How about making 2 topics one for discussion and one for introduction? just to avoid making it a mess, keep it organized like the real photo topic.

First off cedric is a CM and his AMA is not just any ordinary AMA from any other casual tanker.  Same for the AMA we just made for Battle Mods.  I hope you will understand why and how these are different.

 

Now for regular tankers, as some of you suggested above, we can't let everyone make a personal topic for this as it'll end up being a big mess and the ones who'll suffer the first are gonna be the genuine AMA starters.  I'm pretty sure we already have an introduction topic somewhere (someone please be nice and link here pluzzz  :wub: ) We already have a Q&A topic for game related things.  I think we can have one in off-topic for non game related matters in which anyone can ask and anyone can help answer.

 

Otherwise if you want to direct a question to someone in particular, why not consider sending him/her a pm? It's far better and you can be even know when s/he opens it.

Well Sir .. his AMA section is flooding in away and also talking about a certain player ..

 

due to the fact if players wanted questions asked they could use the help section or even the Wiki for it.. or go to the game discussion section http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=332229 and ask a mod or a dev for answer's .. its same with his video creative section http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showforum=210 if you look more into the forum you would also see there is a section for videos http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=201463 .. and yes i have pointed these issues out with him..also reason why i have to post them here is cause you seem to avoid my emails / pm ..?? so in the long run the forum needs to be cleaned up and only have one section for things and not so many in the end it do's confuse the newer players...

 

i would also like to see a section just like the photo thing so players can read about others and then for making comments well you will end up with some insulting or trolling others so this part i do not agree with...

1st off, there was no apparent rule bending and I don't what was terribly wrong with those topics which is why I created this.

It's not rocket science to realise that more and more people will be creating such topics because of how easy they are to make and how very little knowledge is necessary to make them. The forum will be flooded with Q&A topics. Such topics should only be for higher-ranking players/staff of the game.

What else did the forum have on it? It was actually allowing for positive interactions between players, something you rarely find on this God-forsaken game (or Darwin forsaken game, to please those of you who are atheist). Sometimes, I understand the shutting of these topics, but when people aren't breaking the rules, but are positively interacting, and enjoying themselves.

What else did the forum have on it? Sometimes, I understand the shutting of these topics, but when people aren't breaking the rules, but are positively interacting, and enjoying themselves.

People are becoming increasingly brash nowadays both in-game and on the forum. Players definitely seemed to be nicer 2 years ago.

Clearly the benefit of these public topics is that everyone can see the answers, which you can't in PM.

 

It's a real shame some activity on the forum which was interesting has been curbed, I hope you find a similarly engaging way to have this available, why not a section dedicated to this?
