For higher ranks than me, is smoky or thunder protection more important?

I think that you need protection from Thunder more than from Smoky (Cedar maybe).

I wouldn't get the kit :) get hornet and freeze during a 50%- that only costs you 20k

 

40k is not worth those 3 paints, you just need one decent one to last you long enough until higher ranks, where you can get the paints that really make a difference!

 

I bought alien as my first paint, and haven't bought another :P but now, I can spend my crystals on much more useful paints, not having wasted crystals earlier

But at my rank (major) thunder and firebrid rules the battle field. so should i wait for light kit or get medium m2 as my thunder and viking are m0 and my rail and hornet are m1. i 99% play CTF and my main combo is m2 freeze and dictator.

The paint makes it look good but thunder it the nerfed badly so it is not a good weapon its take 3 shots to kill hornet before it took 2

IMO get the m3 Isida because then you have a m3 and an advantage over other tankers

Personally for me Firebird was the best, and it's cheaper to get it to M1. Freeze is has more damage at M1, but Firebird becomes much better at M2 and M3. I suggest staying away from Isida until you have a good amount of crystals.

Smoky became very strong after the last update, so I suggest you to buy it (Smoky will be excellent as your rank is Colonel).

One more suggestion: Buy it on -50% discount or at least on -25%, so you will save some crystals. :)

I'd get spark :) the only other paint that offers better Rico protection is clay, so up till you're generalissimo, you will find spark useful

 

Hohloma is of course the better paint, but in the long run spark is probably better value for crystals. One you hit the realms of savanna upwards, I can't see when you'll be using either of the two much anymore. Spark may still be useful even then because of its Rico protection. It's cheaper and is good enough to last you until those ranks.

 

Rustle is good, have you considered that?

 

It needs some MUs :)
