M2 rail, M2 smoky, M2 thunder

 

These guns are pretty similar.

You should prefer different guns if you will buy 2 guns.

 

M2 railgun with M2 twins

M2 thunder with M2 firebird

M2 smoky with M3 isida

I agree with your friend. Since the most recent 'new balances' Smoky has been nerfed. Its damage indeed has been increased, but it doesn't offset the decrease of the critical hit. 

M3 reload can be increased as well now up to 1 shot / second  .. also its range

i would say it's better to save for m2 isida mate, cause smoky m1 will be useless from your rank and above also for titan m1, and you can get fast exp from isida healing. 

also another advice, don't buy paints right now saving for turrets and hulls is a better choice.

i also need to rank up to buy smoky m2 and i have 120k so i think i will buy either m2 thunder or railgun and hornet and fracture but idk thunder or rail which is better also i have exams comming up so there is no way i will be able to rank up in tank's BD sale

I think you can try Smoky.

I don't know what are your hulls, but if you have something light or medium, you may buy firebird M2 also.

if you want to surprised by sheer power and effectiveness of a turret, get thunder. it rocks after the rebalance. but if you want more fun, and some nice critical damage surprises, get smoky, mount it on wasp or hunter, and rock the battlefield. it's impact force is unbelievable. for mass killing take thunder and for deadly precision, smoky.

Don't think like that. You should always focus on your current situation. By the time you are a gizmo, the turrets and hulls may have been rebalanced 10 times and new turrets may have been introduced. Things may change considerably. Always think about what you enjoy most now and what can get you the most crystals now.
