One of the worst updates in tanki history. There isnt even any sense in it, stop enforcing the rules just because a few people get an ego boost out of it? I think they just lost too many staff to keep up with it.

I strongly disagree. The the whole article reads as a justification for extending to the gaming community that insidious cancer that has attacked society in general.   The very nature of a health community or society is the participation of it's members working towards, and in support of goals and stated values.  No community or society has the resources to hire enough "enforcement".  It only works with community members being an active part of the equation.  

 

The prison mentality for attacking anyone standing up instead of hiding out has become an become infectious.  Sneering at those trying to do the right thing is just another sign post on the slide down hill; wannabe indeed.  Shame on you.  

 

A more accurate take on Calvin Dillard is "Weak people suffer, strong people defend, and ignoring a problem isn't intelligent, it's just enabling!"

Who said we stopped enforcing the rules? If you visit the chat, you'll see moderators repeating the same mantra all the time: Please follow the rules. And yes, we do have less mods then we had 2 years ago but that's fine - if players work with us, we can sort out any issue without a problem :)

I completely agree. This is why we're relying on all members of EN community to participate towards keeping the community enjoyable and healthy - on your part, do not break the rules and if someone else does or they bother you in any way, simply block them :) Mods will do their job but the support gotta come from players too, not to break the rules and not to get pulled into endless arguments. It will work if all community members take an active part in the above equation, just as you said  :)

Moderators ban plenty but that's besides the point. The chat is in much better condition than it was, for example, 2-3 years ago. With careful nurturing and promoting the rules, as well as moderators having endless patience and a lot of charm, server chat transformed into much better environment for everyone over the years. I won't say there aren't any violations, of course there are, but mods are mostly there to deal with them. And even when they are not, players know what to do. And we're asking again 'Please, don't escalate the problem further, simply put on Ignore list anyone who annoys you'. That's the most important thing.

Great Idea , but some evil people will still take advantage of it :/ i feel sad when i meet these type of evils but they are no matter to me so i just ignore them :D

I just want to ask, what is the role of a chat moderator/admin including how they are to interact with tankers. Because nowadays I see no interation between many mods, I thought they were meant to also help bring the community together, but many just watch the chat, despite many people having questions to ask, not many use forums, people turn to moderators for such. Now if moderators dont reply, how do you think the players feel? I know moderating is a lot of work, but try maintain like a good chemistry with tankers, being social isn't bad, connecting with people helps the community nourish. Without such, things fall apart. I still remember before the last few months where mods would take their time and answer many questions of tankers and would interact with the tankers, now its like once in a blue moon where a mod pops up onto a server.

 

All I am saying is just try interact with tankers more, one of the reasons people 'hate' mod's is simply because they think all you do is watch and ban people and when it comes to interacting they see hardly any of this.

You are right, it's an unique feature of EN chat mods in the past 2-3 years. But a lot of things changed in 2-3 years, many mods left the position because of the circumstances in their own (real) lives so now there's less mods then in the past. They are all active but their activity is not as visible as it was before plus we have 24 servers to patrol now. The admins are currently working on rebuilding and restructuring the team, in any case thanks for the input :)

As for the rules, they are there so everyone would know what they aren't supposed to do. But it's up to YOU to follow them  ;)

 we have 24 servers to patrol now

I'm pretty sure around half those servers are under 5% capacity of being used, if you put a word to the devs/CM i'm sure the number of servers could be cut down in a way to still efficiently keep the game running and hardly any empty servers. From what I have seen I believe 15 servers are more than enough with the current numbers of remaining players
