Hhhh?

Is this the guilt of these children?

Do they buy their own phones and watch everything?

It's the parents that are being stupid. Thy let their kids on a phone, they get addicted and end up on the street.

Parents are not "stupid" enough to neglect other aspects of their children life.

Also, while children are growing up, parents begin to teach them what they have to do in order to live a decent life, and with the time, children start learning it. There's no reason to say that the technology devices may leave someone on the street.

I don't know what kind of family/society have you lived in.

Parents choose the easier option. Leave hem with a phone or play with them (maybe they cry)

The R word. And you know the profanity you're doing. Any word that needs to be censored should not be used anyway.

"The r word" isn't a bad word.

But now people say it is cause "they want to be nice to everyone" so they don't lower people's self esteem

I can foresee a "YALL JUST A BUNCH OF BUTTHURT LIBERALS" post incoming.

No, it's in the official rules. If the mods decide it's not acceptable, that's final. Who are you to say otherwise? Several words in our language that are considered completely unacceptable for use in PG areas, like two certain four-letter words that start with the letters "s" and "f", actually mean stuff that is ultimately harmless in the long run. It's all a game of what is considered offensive and what isn't - if the word "hurricane" were outlawed tomorrow, it is undoubtedly true that it will also gain the taboo reputation curse words have. If something is considered offensive in a certain area, and higher authorities decide that it is indeed unacceptable for a kids' language only area, then don't use it. Simple.

Please leave me alone.

If you leave him alone, he'll leave you alone. You replied to every single comment he made like it's actually going to influence anything. If you want nothing to do with him, ignore. Easy peasy my dude.

The objective of this discussion is not to talk about the maturity of specific people. Otherwise, this topic would be breaking Off-Topic section rules.

Well said!

Topic about specific people/players are not allowed. Also pointing fingers to anyone is not a good thing whoever he/she is. We all can talk and discuss whether playing video games an act of immaturity or not but we simply can't say if that or this player is immature and not the point we all are looking in here.

It saddens me when I see 13 and under kids playing video games that kill people, and animals (such a GTA). When little kids are given a killing game, they take this game to real life, hitting people with swords, shooting others. Violence is the #1 problem on this earth, and this is not helping.
Oh, like becoming near sighted early? Yes. Your eyes are close to the screen, and your eyes adapt to how close you usually are, then you have to get glasses

Violence is not the main problem as it is a result of other causes. Not able to listen and understand others is one of them. Glasses is good but ears also.

Is watching prn videos an act of maturity?

.-.

What is the relation of that question with the topic tittle?

Take care about what you say, otherwise you could be punished.

fe4f3 is pointing out that some video games are 18+ meaning it's  meant for the Mature, NOT immature. Just as P is meant for 18+ NOT for the immature.

p.r.n.: Abbreviation meaning "when necessary" (from the Latin "pro re nata", for an occasion that has arisen, as circumstances require, as needed).

I used it to show "Necessary videos"

I had investigated what could has that abbreviation mean, but it looks like I didn't try other ways to discover what it could mean.

Anyway, I am now even more confused with your question lol

This is just the result of some thoughts that have been going on in my head for the last 2 days, mostly in the shower (:D). I expect a lot of people to disagree

Playing video games starts out as a fun way to spend your free time, but then slowly escalates into an uncontrollable addiction. It slowly takes over your life, and you feel an overwhelming urge to play for the whole day. When you are playing, you can't stop. This continues until you forcefully separate yourself from the game and instead focus on your responsibilities and goals in real life. You will be surprised at how much more you can do if you reduce or stop playing video games all day.

But not always there's a vice. It also depends on how much "interesting" his/her life may be, if he/she can see the reasons to leave the games for a while and live the life again.

Playing game for more than 5-6 hours is an act of immaturity not before that B)

And if you want to play for such time but no one lets you, so what you are?

I agree with those who say that video games are a sign of immaturity when it becomes more important than real life responsibilities. Playing games, in itself, is not immature.

Before I moved out of my parents house and got a life of my own, my Mom said many times, "Why do you play those stupid games?" "Don't you have something better to do with your time?" I didn't play video games very often, I don't think. Usually a couple hours before going to bed (after homework was done). But that wasn't every night. On the weekends, it was the same.

I like to read about current events and use the computer to get different viewpoints. At times, that's what I was doing, not playing video games, when my Mom walked in. She wasn't a computer person and very naive about what could be gained from computers. Somehow she got the impression that all one could do on a computer was play games.

Now, that I'm my own person, I still have a full life outside of the world of computers. I love to meet people in person and am very outgoing. My Mom still teases me about computer gaming.
