FPS Issues, but not normal ones

 Share

Recommended Posts

So I recently had to give my Laptop in to be repaired for a broken charger port, that's all fixed now.  Previously laptop had been going slowly.

Shortly after I got it back I noticed an fps issue, which was that the screen juddered a little, and the fps constantly switches from 58 to 60 back and forth.  I tried reducing screen size to "tiny", and the issue remains, so there's definitely a problem which is abnormal.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I did install a normal windows update, but I'm fairly sure the fps issue started before that.

EDIT: Just experienced same issue , fps from 56 to 60 and back and forth

PS: Need help ASAP, it is middle of Domination Series!

Graphics driver reinstall: Intel has a software called Driver Updater Utility. I don't know if AMD too?

You can set the client's/browser's priority in task manager to High. May work, may not.

I have the same issue as well, sometimes changing browser and connecting charger helps.

Indeed, connecting charger solved other FPS issues I had, but not this one :) Will try the other suggestion, thanks

Yep, choose the one that is suited your PC/Laptop and choose the correct model if you can.

How do I find the one I need?

Which PC/Laptop are you using? Asus, Acer, HP, etc. Which one is it since you can write the model name and number and get the latest drivers from the official websites.

Hello, knowing a bit more about the problem, here is what I can offer:

1) Using your resources

You can tell you computer to work harder.

  • Go to Power Options, Change advanced power settings. In the new window find Graphic and processor power management, and put them to maximum performance. I don't think it's harmful to do. (lifetime)
  • Open Task Manager, go to Processes and right click on the browser/flash/client process and set it's Priority to High.

2) Updating driver

  • The easiest way to update your drivers is to use a driver updater tool. Sounds crafty right? I recommend you to use DriverMax, but make sure you don't install unwanted softwares offered by the installer. I also suggest you to uninstall DriverMax after you've updated your graphic driver - it's useless.

3) Reinstall Tanki, clear cache

  • Having a clean new start may help?

Edit: In case you don't know where to download DriverMax from, I recommend CNET.

These 2 options are quite usual other than making your Laptop eat more battery when the charger is not plugged in but that is only if he has a Laptop. Mine is just how you described now and it is been like this from the past 9 months and it is wonderfully working. :)
