Domination Series II Playoff | Synergy vs Peppers

 

Hello guys! Today, I’ll be reviewing another match played in Domination Series II. On the 18th of July, winners of Master of the Swords 2 “Peppers” faced the winners of Clan Championship 9 “Synergy”. The match was played in Red Alert  in New Light Format. The losing clan will be eliminated from the tournament and the winners will move on to the next stage.

First Round

 

Synergy entered the round on the blue base and Peppers on red base. The match started with an attack from Synergy's side. @eSports_Player picked up a Double Armor & Sped Boost and went towards the Peppers’ base under a cover of @avetismergelyan2 who picked up a Double Armor. @avetismergelyan2 grabbed the flag and went out of Peppers base but he flipped. However, Peppers didn’t return their flag. from Synergy took the flag from @avetismergelyan2 and brought it into th Synergy’s base. Two members from Peppers were roaming around the Synergy’s base, namely and , but Synergy managed to destroy them and thy were able to capture the flag.

 

Seven minutes before round end, from Peppers managed to take Synergy’s flag. On other side, Synergy attacked Peppers’ base in order to return their flag and even capture another enemy flag. Synergy managed to return and bring enemy flag to their base, but Peppers used the fact that Synergy didn’t have defenders to take their flag again. When the drops fell for the third time, both teams were holding the flag of opposing team. Synergy lost their concentration which allowed  to return the flag and Peppers tied the score.

 

After a minute, Synergy attacked Peppers base once again. @Gothic grabbed the flag and brought it to the center of the map. There his teammates from Synergy took the flag to their base and @Z__e_K captured the flag. Synergy was once again in one flag lead.

 

With only a minute left, Peppers unleashed their attacking power. They managed to bring the flag to the center and equipped with Speed Boost took the flag and brought it to his base. He was eliminated in the last second, but has been there to capture the flag. Synergy didn’t give up and right after Peppers captured their flag, they grasped enemy flag and captured it. Synergy won this round with the score 3:2. 

 

Second Round

 

The second round started very good for Synergy. Similar to the first round, @eSports_Player who picked up a Double Armor & Speed Boost and @avetismergelyan2 who picked up a Double Armor attacked Peppers base. Peppers managed to destroy them, but more players from Synergy joined the offense. @Gothic took Pepper's flag and drove it near the Synergy’s base. @St.Railgun grabbed and captured the flag.

 

@eSports_Player, who had full drops equipped, attacked Peppers’ base with help of @Z__e_K , @St.Railgun and @Gothic. @eSports_Player inflicted a huge damage to Peppers' members and even took the flag. Peppers managed to finally kill him, but @Gothic who had a Double Power & Speed Boost took over the flag and captured it!

 

who replaced in the position of Peppers' “Smoker” grabbed Synergy’s flag and brought it to the center. Unfortunately, he wasn't covered by his teammates which allowed @Z__e_K to kill him and return the flag.

 

Around 30 seconds after that, @St.Railgun picked up a Double Armor & Double Power, he took Peppers flag and reached to the center of the map but was killed and the flag has been returned. At almost same moment, from Peppers grabbed Synergy’s flag and tried to reach his base, but he failed as well.

 

At the last minute of the round, @eSports_Player went to take Peppers flag in order to raise the lead. He picked up a Double Armor and took Peppers’ flag, but , who picked up a Double Power, managed to kill him and @avetismergelyan2 who was there to support the @eSports_Player.

 

Right after this attack, Peppers attacked themselves. equipped with a Double Armor took Synergy’s flag to the center, he was killed there but @Rekstarr still captured the flag. Peppers reduced Synergy's lead to one flag, but there was no more time to for them to at least tie the result and Synergy won this round with the score 2:1. 

 

Third Round

 

Peppers must have won 3 rounds in a row to have a chance to stay in the tournament. On the other hand, Synergy needed only a draw to move on.

 

When the drops fell for the first time, Peppers’ member picked up full drops and went to attack Synergy base. He managed to heavily damage Synergy’s players, but in the end he failed to take a flag and was killed.

 

Four minutes before the round end, @Gothic attacked Peppers base with a Double Power, he grabbed the flag but Peppers managed to kill him and return it.

 

When the drops fell for the fourth time, Synergy decided to focus everything on the defense. @Gothic, who mostly attacked in previous round, picked up full drops and stayed in his base to make sure that Peppers won’t be able to take the flag.

 

Peppers had one last chance to capture a flag when the drops fell for the last time. To their dismay, @Gothic had a Double Power & a Double Armor equipped and he repelled even their last offensive pressure. Thanks to the great defense of Synergy players, Peppers didn’t manage to capture a flag in this round which meant that Synergy won the match! 

 

 

 

Interview

 

Additionally to the review, I’ll be interviewing one special player from Synergy.

 

@Spy: Hello @St.Railgun! Thank you for joining me in this interview. Synergy placed first place in “Clan Championship 9”, you are now in TOP 3 of Domination Series II. What changed in your team between all these tournaments?

 

@St.Railgun: In CC9 there were many hackers, but they could have an "advantage" only in formats with Railgun, but in CC9 there were medium and hard formats too, that's why we could win. Additionally, we all trained very hard, practically 3+ hours per day and we had a strong desire to win again.

 

@Spy: Do you think you can win Domination Series 2?

 

@St.Railgun: Yes, I think we can, especially after Vavilon has been disqualified. They are very strong in medium format, a little bit better than we are, and very strong in hard format too.

 

@Spy: Can you describe your game against Peppers in short?

 

@St.Railgun: We didn't have in that match and let @Z__e_K and @avetismergelyan2, who are hard format players, to fight in light format. Despite that, they played very-very well with Wasp and we beat Peppers, last champions of Railgun format, quite easily. But, I think if we were playing another map (we are very good on this map, never lost there) and Peppers would let play with Smoky, maybe the result would be different. Who knows.

Conclusion

 

Both teams played very well. It was a thrilling match to watch. In my humble opinion, Peppers don’t have a professional “Smoker”. It seems they aren’t as experienced in this format as they are in XP/BP. Synergy focused very well on Peppers’ Smoker when he had drops and with a good teamwork, they won this match. Synergy moved on to the next stage. There, Synergy will face All In and the winner of that match will move on to the grand-final to play against the English team All Kind.
