Forum

Completely remove post count and add Reputation system.

Recommended Posts

Post count should completely be removed from this forum, as it only causes many players to spam the whole forum. Most players want a lot of posts, I don't understand why, but yes. So it'd be good and it'd stop players to spam more if you completely remove post count from this forum.

And Reputation system should be added to the forum. It's the likes a player gets. The likes a player gets should be counted in his profile.

It would be a good update to this forum, I think.

Completed

Not sure about the reputation system but I think it will be possible once we go to the new Forum as the Russian one, not sure if it doable in this Forum but the other part can definitely be done.

Are you goddamn kidding me?!

definitely no!

But in the case someone decides to switch to the new system exactly when this account reaches 9998 posts, then.. maybe... maybeeeeee... someone would be kidding someone :p

just kidding btw ;) I have no influence on that :p

No, this idea sucks. I mean, the second part sounds good but removing the post count would just be horrid!!!

I'm all for this one. Reputation is a pretty good indicator of.. well... reputation, so this would be better than just an overall post count. Even better would be if the reputation was not just total likes, but a "like/post ratio", so you would see the average of how many likes the user gets per post. So someone who posts quality content rarely would have a much higher reputation than someone who posts short pointless comments every 5 minutes. And I think that would be a massive improvement.

Pls not the white forum. It's simply horrible. Don't know why, but white color isn't suitable.

We will have same engine as RU forum. It's easily changeable to black.

I'm afraid they'll tell us about some programming features that we don't understand and try to convince us that it's impossible to change to black :S

what about those noobs who only post their best battle results in picture of the day? all you have to do is post a picture of you with very high k/d there and you get 20+ likes. most of the people who do this are actually very big noobs, i know because i smashed them in battles before. but they only post those few battles where they get lucky and they get a high post/like ratio. on the other hand, people like me who have only posted battles where i barely managed to win/lose and never post the many battles i got nearly 1000 score and infinite k/d get very few likes

This would be more a popularity system than a reputation system.

Those two are somewhat similar.

then be prepared for me and many others to start googleing for photos of sexy girls to post in real photo section. that's the best and easiest way to get popular.

That's what I thought about also. I don't think there can ever be a perfect automatic system that compared forum users' experience. There will always be at least one way to abuse it, regardless of what the system is (post count, likes, etc.)

make some IQ tests on the forum. show everyone's IQ level beside their name.

Make everyone pass an official globally recognised test of English, Maths, Science and Social Studies before they can use the forum

I think my stance on increasing Post Counts via Forum Games is established but I wouldn’t like it to go the extent that Post Counts are completely removed. Post Counts are a good thing to use to determine who is experienced and who are the go-to people. Obviously, Staff (particularly Forum Mods) are the best people to go to when in need of help but I wouldn’t mind seeing a sort of “Verified” system. Those who are familiar with YouTube/Twitter would know what I mean. The Reputation System is probably a nice addition but we could take it a step further by possibly introducing a Verification System.

you made it seem like you were joking, but deep down you're actually wishing this could be true, right?

@Maf, you are right about post-reputation ratio. That'd be the best thing.

But many players will start to make a record of lowest post-reputation ratio then...;p

I do agree with the first post on this forum that the post count should be removed to avoid spamming and causing unnecessary bans for players. Good idea though.

A reputation system where players earn likes in a post or forum is also an amazing feature to be added because, the player who types his post or forum can be notified by a like icon if his post or forum is liked by other players.

Try to learn what players like before posting your next idea.

Actually, most ideas get declined not because players dislike them, but because they are unnecessary or would damage the game.
