"Pay to win" is when the game has a powerful item that is available ONLY for real money and allows the player to easily dominate any other player, who doesn't have that item.
 
Please think about this and ask yourself, how do cosmetic items (paints) allow anyone to "win" and what does that have to do with "pay to win"?
 
 
 

Why are you adding lootboxes.
Haven't you seen the problems caused lately in a certain other game?

• This certain other game is an AAA title that needs to be bought for a hefty amount of money in the first place, which is why adding microtransactions and lootboxes to force people to pay when they already paid to play the game resulted in such an outrage
• The loot boxes in that game were said to contain powerful characters, i.e. "P2W items". Tanki only has cosmetic paints
• Devs literally gave a full 3 days for players to get potentially unlimited free containers, so anyone has an opportunity to get these items.

 

In my opinion, the only sensible complaint that anyone could have is that the "legendary" paints are being made available again, so they lose their status value for those who got them years ago. But even that isn't a big deal, to be honest. After all, they're just normal paints anyone could buy at the time.

Not only from sale but from the Gold Box too.

I agree they lose their legendary purpose if obtain like this, but I can't resist to the prospect to be able to have a second opportunity to get one.

Furthermore some of them you could only obtain them with luck in the first place, you needed to be playing that day and have the right amount of crystal available.

Since TO started to sell lookalike paints, what was left was a small step to do, that was inevitable.

Yes, they will stay in your Garage in the "Special" tab.

Nope you won't be able to buy them after black friday is over but if you bought them DURING black friday and didn't use them you will be able to use them any day you want :).
