Ummm... This was fun but it's kinda unfair for the players who didn't play after the server update. 

 

 

Still.... I got like 240k cry, glitch, vanadium, spectrum, steak, liquid metal, 35 golds, like 1 month prem and like 2k of drugs xD..

Well the thing is, if they take everything away, the players will be infuriated.

If they keep everything, the game is broken.

I'm afraid everything will be removed (and I still have 80 unopened containers).

I think what's happening is they're freaking out and trying to come up with a decision to appease everyone. They wouldn't just freak out and ban everyone over some missed hyphen or backdash.

They would ban 1/4 of the daily Tanki players if they did.

During the whole event, from 02:00 UTC November 24th till 02:00 UTC November 27th Gold Boxes that drop in the game will become black, and instead of crystals, inside you will find 1 container.

 

The chance for the Black Box to drop is the same as the Gold Box now.

There was a Gold box supply glitch where it dropped a gold, but it didn't reduce the count in your supplies. Only 20-30 players were involved in it and received punishment. This is obviously different, thousands of players were involved. 

At my company, when we push software changes out live in the middle of the night, someone is sitting there watching the change move to a staging server with no business traffic. It gets inspected and validated, then they move to the load balanced servers for customers to pick up the changes.

 

If this were a real business transaction going on to play the game and get a black/gold, they would be up a creek because they would have to honor the prices and conditions on the site.

 

And where's the guy who asked for black golds? They should go down in Tanki history after this.

I bought 25 containers for $23.99 US. Got almost 100k in crystals, 15 GB, a buttload of DD, DA, SU, mines, 4 days of premium, and Spectrum paint. Then I scored another 57 containers during the 1st hour when boxes were dropping everywhere. Sure hope I don't lose anything, including what I bought!!!!

This could be a nightmare for TO. They could roll back the servers a couple hours. But what about the people who paid cash for a crate and got something really nice.  Then teh rollback comes, the nice item is gone. TO can figure out how many crates to give back to those thatpaid cash.  But then they have to open them and get new random prizes. The chance the buyer gets that really nice item again is slim.

 

I hope that made sense. This will annoy he people they least want to annoy... their regular buyer customers.

I think the smart thing to do it just make an official statement to all players to calm them saying what they'll be doing. I think they should do one of these things:

- Let players keep a portion of each section of gifts the boxes provided (Drugs,Paints,Golds,Crystals)

or

-Have the player the player choose which section they'd like to keep (and they'd lose all the other gifts)

 

That's what I think is smartest.

I think I was playing wiht you on Rio in CP...I was that pathetic Isida/Viking usually on the top of the buildings...I hope you weren't one of those nasty greedy Dictator drivers that kept pushing me off.  :)
